Engineers from IHM Stefanini Will Travel to France to Acquire Expertise and Work on the Brazilian Submarine Project PROSUB, Repositioning the National Shipbuilding Industry in This Type of Project

IHM Stefanini announced its participation in the construction of the first Brazilian nuclear submarine, the SN Álvaro Alberto. The project is part of the Submarine Development Program (PROSUB), established in 2008 through a technology transfer agreement between Brazil and France.

The project will be coordinated by Naval Group, a world reference in naval defense. IHM Stefanini was chosen from over 70 companies through rigorous evaluations and audits that, in addition to technical competence, also considered the ability to manage high-complexity projects.

The project includes the design of the IPMS (Integrated Platform Management System), supply of panels, configuration of PLCs, networks, and cybersecurity systems. A group of engineers from IHM Stefanini will receive training for four months in France, at the excellence center for naval equipment of Naval Group.

Only six countries in the world have nuclear submarines: the USA, Russia, China, the United Kingdom, France, and India. Helping Brazil join this select group involves great responsibility and is also an honor and recognition of the quality of the work developed.
