The Västervik and Isokeidas Projects Have a Nominal Capacity of Nearly 87MW and Are Wind Challengers, with Commercial Operation of Renewable Energy.
The Västervik and Isokeidas wind farms of Ilmatar are contributing to renewable energy generation with 14 turbines, totaling about 87MW of nominal capacity. The construction of the wind farms began in July 2022, following investment decisions in the wind farm area. With the Västervik and Isokeidas wind farms, Ilmatar has expanded commercial production at six renewable energy production sites in 2023 so far.
Petri Ainonen, construction director of Ilmatar, emphasized that completing the construction of Västervik and Isokeidas ahead of schedule was a success, and he highlighted the earlier completion of the Jäkäläkangas wind farm. AIP Management participated as a financier in the wind farms of Isokeidas, Västervik, Jäkäläkangas, and Palma, all put into commercial operation during 2023, totaling a capacity of 131.8 MW in the wind energy parks.
Wind Farms: Renewable Energy in Focus
Renewable energy is one of the main sources of electricity worldwide, and wind farms play a crucial role in this sector. Wind farms, also known as wind energy parks, account for a significant part of the nominal capacity of renewable energy generation.

The Importance of Wind Farms in Commercial Energy Production
Wind farms have a life cycle that includes stages of construction, operation, and decommissioning. These stages are wind challengers, but when successfully completed, result in commercial production of clean and renewable energy. The construction of wind farms is financed by investors and companies in the energy sector.
Expansion of the Nominal Capacity of Wind Farms
With the evolution of wind technology, the nominal capacity of wind farms has increased significantly in recent years, making them an increasingly viable source for electricity production. Wind farms in commercial operation are a reality in many countries around the world, contributing to the diversification of the energy mix and the reduction of carbon emissions.
Challenges and Opportunities of Wind Farms
Despite the benefits of renewable energy, wind farms face challenges such as location and wind conditions. However, the opportunities offered by wind energy outweigh these challenges, making it an attractive option for producing clean and sustainable electricity. The continuous expansion of wind farms reflects the growth of the renewable energy sector and the commitment to transitioning to a low-carbon economy.
