Unprecedented Initiative! UERR Opens Registrations for Master in Public Safety and Human Rights, Allowing Continuous Flow Admission. With Two Essential Research Lines, the Course Trains Professionals to Face the Challenges of Safety and Human Rights in Brazil. Don’t Miss This Opportunity and Get Ready for an Impactful Education

In recent years, Brazil has faced increasingly complex challenges in the areas of public safety and human rights.

Issues that were once seen as peripheral have now moved to the center of national debate, requiring professionals to act with even more knowledge and preparation.

To meet this growing demand and train specialists who can make a difference, the State University of Roraima (UERR) has opened registrations for a professional master’s degree in public safety, human rights, and citizenship.

The initiative, with classes scheduled to start in February 2025, promises to be a game-changer for those looking to work in these essential areas.

UERR also brings a new feature that may please those seeking more flexibility to enter graduate programs: the selection process now operates on a continuous flow, allowing new students to enroll in multiple periods throughout the year.

This unprecedented change in the institution’s history eliminates the one-year wait for the selection process, facilitating access for busy professionals or those looking to advance their qualifications immediately.

Continuous Flow and Registration in the Course: How the New Selection Process at UERR Works

Interested candidates have until November 19, 2024, to register for the selection process for the master’s degree in public safety, human rights, and citizenship.

Registrations must be made on the official UERR website, where candidates can find complete guidelines and required documents for application. All requested documents must be sent to the course coordination email: mpspdhc@uerr.edu.br.

With the adoption of the continuous flow system, candidates will have more opportunities throughout the year, as they will not have to wait for an annual selection process to enter the course.

Josias Ferreira, professor and coordinator of the master’s program, emphasizes that this change expands entry opportunities and better meets the profile of those seeking more immediate professional qualifications.

“The council approved the offering of 20 spots for 2025, which will be available in continuous flow.

This way, professionals from various related fields, such as human rights, citizenship, and public safety, can better plan to enroll in the course throughout the year,” Ferreira explained in a statement.

Research Areas and Study Lines Offered by the Course

The master’s program at UERR offers two strategic research lines that aim to uniquely integrate theory and practice, directly contributing to the training of professionals who can apply their knowledge to the challenging situations of the current Brazilian context.

Human Rights, Citizenship, and Public Policies

This research line is geared toward professionals seeking to understand and transform the relationship between citizenship and public policies.

With a focus on human rights practices, students will engage with critical and in-depth studies, aiming to develop strategies for promoting citizenship and analyzing current public policies.

This knowledge provides a solid foundation to apply in various areas of public management, NGOs, and sectors focused on social inclusion and justice.

Public Safety, Violence, and Social Defense

Focusing on themes such as violence prevention and social defense, this line is ideal for those working in public safety who wish to enhance their strategies, knowledge of violence dynamics, and effective response methods to face the challenges of this field.

Students will engage with modern concepts and advanced research tools, equipping themselves to deal with the increasingly complex reality of public safety in Brazil.

These two lines allow for specific and in-depth study, empowering professionals and researchers to have a meaningful impact in their respective fields.

Both areas also permit the creation of research and extension projects aimed at solving real and concrete problems, directly contributing to safety and citizenship in Brazil and Roraima.

Selection Schedule and Enrollment for the Master’s Course

For interested candidates, the selection process follows a well-defined schedule set by UERR. After the registration period, the next step will be the announcement of the evaluation panels, scheduled for November 22.

Following that, the final results with the names of the approved candidates will be announced on December 5, providing new students with the certainty of their enrollment before the end of the year.

The enrollment period is scheduled to take place between December 9 and 17. This interval ensures that the approved candidates have enough time to organize their documentation and finalize enrollment processes, securing their spot in the course and preparing for the start of classes in February 2025.
