PS Zamprogna Plans to Invest in the Factory for a New Production Line for Longitudinal Cuts in High-Strength Steels.
PS Zamprogna, a company specialized in the development of processing services and the sale of metallurgical products, aims to make a leap in the steel supply market for the industry. With an investment of R$ 10 million, the company based in Canoas is working on the assembly of a production line for longitudinal cuts in high-strength steels, called Slitter, with adjustments for infinite cuts. This type of material, intended for the production of heavy machinery and vehicles as well as for the construction and furniture industries, is currently not produced in Rio Grande do Sul. New Production Line at the Unit in Canoas, Rio Grande do Sul
“We realized that there was a gap in the market. Today, in Brazil, for an industry to obtain this type of high-strength steel, with the required quality, it can only find it in the interior of São Paulo or is forced to import. With this investment, we will ensure greater savings for production, especially in such a variable commodity as steel, and we will also generate taxes here in Rio Grande do Sul and Canoas”, explains businessman Paulo Sérgio Zamprogna about the investment in the factory.
The new equipment will allow the delivery of steel with cuts according to the customer’s requirements. It is estimated that there is a demand for at least 4,000 tons of high-strength steel with longitudinal cuts, every month, that is not being met in the state. To address this market, PS Zamprogna’s projection is to ensure an increase of at least 40% in its current production, with the creation of 25 jobs in the assembly phase of the new line in the factory. Today, the company serves the light and heavy automotive industry.

YPF, an Argentine multinational dedicated to the exploration, refining, and sale of oil and its derivatives, announced that it will readjust the structure of its factory in the country and make it more digital, in a reform estimated at R$ 48 million in investments. Named “Future Plant,” the project, which began five years ago, has already quadrupled the production capacity of the company.
According to information released by the PetroNotícias portal, the project, which started five years ago, has already quadrupled the production capacity of the company in its factory, which previously generated about 1 million liters of automotive lubricant per month and can now achieve the same amount in just one week of operation. By 2023, it is expected to reach the mark of 10,000 cubic meters per month. The technological improvements in the factory have allowed not only an increase in production capacity but also a reduction in errors caused by human action through the inclusion of proactive machines and robots, which not only prevent mistakes but also assist in their identification. Another concern of YPF Brazil is the sustainable impact of the new factory on the environment. Currently, the company consumes 500 grams of liquefied petroleum gas to produce one cubic meter of lubricant, while competitors consume about 2 kilograms to produce the same amount of final product.
