Astromaritima Has Offshore Job Openings This Friday, July 22, available for positions such as chief engineer, electrician, sailor, steward, cook, deckhand, and many others with and without experience, with applications submitted via the institution’s email: curriculo@astromaritima.com.br. The opportunities are intended for candidates available to work in Macaé, a city located in Rio de Janeiro (RJ).

In summary, the offshore job openings were announced by one of the company’s recruiters on their social media and have been open for more than a week. It is desirable that candidates have experience working offshore, PSV 3,300 AB, DP2. It is crucial that all certifications are up to date.

Job Openings Announced on the Profile of One of the Company’s Human Resources (HR) Professionals.

Engine Room Sailor 

In the logistics and navigation sector, the engine room sailor is responsible for maintaining and organizing the entire machinery area of a company. This professional is responsible for the operation of the entire ship. 

It is part of the routine duties of the sailor to keep the ship’s Officer updated on any issues that may arise during navigation and thus ensure the safety of themselves and other professionals. 

This specialist should have experience in the offshore sector and it is important that they are knowledgeable about the correct use and importance of personal protective equipment in daily work. 

Electrician 

The electrician will work on the vessels creating circuits and resolving electrical issues. They should also have a preventive attitude to prevent issues related to lack of maintenance.  

The electrician will assist other electricians, providing suggestions and leading teams during navigations. Therefore, it is important that they have experience in the offshore sector and with leading other professionals in the same field. 

Cook 

The cook will be responsible for preparing all meals for the professionals working at sea. To qualify for the position, one key aspect is having experience with large-scale food production, particularly in the offshore sector. 

Being a communicative person, knowing how to work in a team, and having an intermediate level of English are advantages for being selected. The cook is an extremely important professional on an offshore vessel! 

Steward 

The steward is responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of all cabins, as well as the communal areas used by other employees. This professional is increasingly scarce in the market while demand for their services is exponentially increasing. 

The salary of the steward has not been disclosed by the company, but according to the Vagas portal, the average amount paid for this type of professional in their daily offshore work is around R$ 4,504; however, this can vary depending on the company and the size of the brand making the hire.
