Targeted at architects and students, the ADUS LATAM Award is an excellent opportunity to participate in a Latin American architecture and design award. The contest, promoted by Saint-Gobain, accepts entries from professionals and architecture students from all countries where the company has industrial operations in the region.
ADUS LATAM Award: Elevating Architecture
This year’s ADUS LATAM Award offers a total scholarship of 160 thousand dollars (more than R$ 850 thousand), distributed across five distinct categories. This biennial event is sponsored by Saint-Gobain Latin America, in collaboration with the Pan-American Federation of Architects’ Associations (FPAA) and supported by various institutes and associations of architects in the region. For the first time in history, this edition of the ADUS LATAM Award includes architectural projects from the seven Latin American countries where the company is present: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, and Uruguay.

Support from the Institute of Architects of Brazil
In Brazil, the event has regional support from the Institute of Architects of Brazil (IAB), an essential reference in discussions on architecture and urbanism, encouraging and valuing this discipline in the country. Odilo Almeida Filho, National President of the IAB, highlights the great relevance of this award in the sector, mentioning: ‘It is an exceptional opportunity to highlight the quality of the work of Brazilian architects and the importance of these projects for sustainability solutions for 21st-century cities‘. He also reinforces the invitation to all professionals and students in the field to actively participate in the ADUS LATAM Award.
Objectives and Evaluation Criteria
The main goal of the architecture contest and design competition is to award works that demonstrate a commitment to solutions for the sustainability of 21st-century cities, valuing and disseminating innovative ideas in the face of contemporary challenges related to habitat and inhabitants. Urban and architectural projects will compete with temporary interventions and interior designs, all seeking smart solutions, creative use of local resources, and strategies to minimize costs and impacts of construction and maintenance of buildings. This promotes sustainability in the Latin American architecture and design award.
Participation and Registration
Macarena Ramírez, Director of Brand and External Communication LATAM, comments on the new edition of the ADUS LATAM Award: ‘This edition seeks to highlight projects that significantly contribute to solving the housing deficit in the region, aligned with the company’s actions in addressing global challenges, always with an eye on natural resources and people’. Entries and submissions of works must be made by July 31, through the platform https://premioaduslatam.saint-gobain.com/, where detailed information and the complete regulations are available.
Participation Criteria
Professional architects can participate individually, in teams, in firms, public agencies, or NGOs, as long as they hold a valid diploma from public or private universities and are registered with architect associations affiliated with FPAA/ASBEA. Final-year students and recent graduates can also participate, provided they have the participation of a supervising professor from the university.
International Evaluation Committee
The evaluation committee is composed of renowned professionals from the seven participating countries: Nicolás Campodónico (Argentina), Lilian Dal Pian (Brazil), Felipe Assadi (Chile), Camilo Restrepo Ochoa (Colombia), Gabriela Carrillo (Mexico), Patricia Llosa Bueno (Peru), and Marcelo Danza (Uruguay), as well as Josep Ferrando, an international judge (Spain).
Distribution of Prizes
The prizes total 160 thousand dollars (over R$ 850 thousand), distributed in the following categories: ADUS LATAM Gold Award for Professionals – US$ 60 thousand; ADUS LATAM Silver Award for Professionals – US$ 45 thousand; ADUS LATAM Bronze Award for Professionals – US$ 25 thousand; ADUS LATAM Trajectory Award – US$ 20 thousand; and ADUS LATAM Recognition for Academic Practice for Students – US$ 10 thousand.
