Discover below all the details of this transformative initiative.
What Courses Are Available?
IFBA has made three options for courses available, totaling 240 spots split between the following areas:
- Cultural Agent: 120 spots;
- Photographer: 60 spots;
- Scenic Lighter: 60 spots.
Classes will start on January 20, 2025, and will run until April of the same year. With a total workload of 200 hours, the courses will be held from Monday to Friday, from 6 PM to 10 PM, and occasionally on Saturdays.
To facilitate access, activities will take place in strategic and partner locations, such as Teatro Boca de Brasa and Colégio Estadual Batista Neves, both located in the Cajazeiras neighborhood of Salvador.
Financial Aid for Participants
One of the significant differentiators of this initiative is the financial aid provided by IFBA to cover transportation and food costs.
Students enrolled and attending classes regularly will receive R$ 4.50 per class hour, which can total up to R$ 900 throughout the entire course at the Federal Institute, depending on attendance.
According to IFBA, this financial aid is essential to ensure that participants can attend classes without difficulties, promoting an inclusive and accessible experience.
How Do Spots and Affirmative Actions Work?
The selection process also promotes social inclusion through affirmative actions.
Of the total 240 spots, 60% are reserved for candidates who self-declare as Black, Brown, or Indigenous (PPI), 5% for people with disabilities (PCD), and 5% for quilombolas.
The remaining 30% will be allocated to open competition. Should some reserved spots not be filled, they will be redistributed to other candidates in the open competition.
This policy reinforces IFBA’s commitment to equal opportunities, prioritizing access for historically marginalized groups to quality professional qualification.
Who Can Participate in the Courses at IFBA?
Although the courses are primarily aimed at young people between 16 and 29 years old, anyone with incomplete elementary education can register. The basic requirements include:
- Priority for those registered in CadÚnico or Sine;
- Commitment to regular attendance in classes;
- Willingness to fulfill the workload during the designated hours.
