Free Opportunity Brings Advanced Training, Fully Online Classes, and Selection by Curriculum Analysis, Attracting Education Professionals Interested in Digital Technologies Applied to Teaching.
The Federal Institute of São Paulo (IFSP), through the Guarulhos Campus, has opened a selection process for the lato sensu postgraduate program in Applied Technologies in Education, a free course, completely distance learning, with 150 spots for admission in the first academic semester of 2026.
Applications will be exclusively conducted online, from December 1 to 12, 2025, through an electronic form provided by the campus.

The specialization is part of IFSP’s continuous education policy and is aimed at professionals interested in incorporating digital technologies into the planning, mediation, and evaluation of teaching and learning processes, especially in basic education, but also in other stages and modalities of education.

Petrobras and SENAI join forces and launch free technology courses that pay up to R$ 706.
The course will be offered between February 2026 and July 2027, in the entirely distance education modality, with no mandatory in-person activities.
According to the announcement, the training is entirely free: there are no tuition fees, enrollment fees, or application fees to participate in the selection.
The specialization is offered by the Guarulhos Campus, in partnership with the Open University of Brazil (UAB) system, and uses hubs as administrative and occasional support references for students, with no mandatory attendance required.
The pedagogical project foresees a total workload of 360 hours, divided into three academic semesters.
Of this total, 300 hours correspond to mandatory curricular components common to all students, while 60 hours are dedicated to a specific elective course in the area chosen at the time of enrollment.
The maximum time for course completion is 30 months, counted from the initial enrollment, in accordance with the institutional guidelines of the lato sensu postgraduate program at IFSP.
The detailed academic calendar for the 2026 academic year will be published in a separate document by the campus.
The institutional forecast is for the start of activities in the first semester of 2026, with the development of subjects throughout three consecutive periods, respecting the interval from February 2026 to July 2027 established in the announcement.
Vacancies, Areas of Concentration, and Support Hubs
The specialization in Applied Technologies in Education offers 150 annual spots, distributed across three training areas: Basic Education, Computer Science, and Robotics, with 50 spots in each area.
At the time of enrollment, the candidate must select only one of these tracks, which will guide the choice of the elective subject taken in the third semester.
The spots are also organized by UAB reference hub.
There are five participating hubs: SP/CEU Aricanduva, SP/CEU Navegantes, SP/CEU Vila Atlântica, Araras, and São Carlos, each with 30 spots.
Within each hub, the spots are divided among the three areas of concentration, and the candidate needs to indicate, in the application form, both the hub and the area in which they intend to compete.
The announcement also establishes reserved spots for affirmative actions.
Thirty percent of the spots are reserved for self-declared black, indigenous, or quilombola candidates, and 5% are reserved for people with disabilities, according to specific legislation and IFSP’s internal regulations.
The lists of open competition and affirmative actions are organized by hub and by area, and the distribution of spots observes these percentages.
Although linked to the course, the UAB hubs function as support points, potentially offering local guidance or access to computer equipment, depending on the available infrastructure at each unit.
However, the entire training pathway occurs in a virtual learning environment, with activities, interactions, and assessments conducted online.
Who Can Apply and How the Selection Works
Graduates in recognized higher education courses by the Ministry of Education, in any area, may apply, provided they present a diploma, academic transcript, or completion certificate, according to the announcement.
Diplomas issued by foreign institutions need to be validated by a Brazilian public university.
Candidates who do not yet have a registered diploma may participate, as long as they prove completion of their degree and later present the definitive document for the issuance of the specialization certificate.
Application is made exclusively online, through an electronic form from IFSP, which requires complete data entry and the digital submission of the documentation listed in the announcement.
Applications sent by mail, email, or in-person attendance are not accepted, nor are those submitted after the deadline.
It is the candidate’s responsibility to verify the legibility of the files and the accuracy of the information, as applications with incomplete or inconsistent documents may be denied at the homologation stage.
The selection process is based on documentation analysis, with points awarded for qualifications and professional experience.
The evaluation table assigns specific points for degrees, bachelor’s degrees, and higher education technology courses.
Teachings in public and private education networks and other experiences in education are also scored.
Experience in public basic education carries greater weight within the criteria for professional practice.
After verifying the documentation and calculating the scores, IFSP publishes the preliminary results, opens a period for appeals, and then publishes the final results with the list of approved candidates by hub, area of concentration, and type of spot.
In case of a tie, the announcement provides criteria such as the priority application of rules for older candidates and then the longest time of education or experience.
Course Contents and Focus on Digital Technologies in Education
The program content combines pedagogical fundamentals and the use of digital technologies applied to education.
The curriculum includes subjects focused on distance education, digital culture, ethics and media education, teaching in contemporary schools, and support tools for classes.
In the following semesters, the course delves into topics such as artificial intelligence applied to education, video lesson production, elements of instructional design, building courses in virtual learning environments, and assistive technologies.
There is also a specific elective component by area of concentration, allowing the student to get closer to contexts related to basic education, computer science, or robotics.
The pedagogical project highlights the goal of training professionals capable of planning, mediating, and evaluating teaching-learning processes with intensive support from technological resources.
It also emphasizes the digital literacy of educators, accessibility, inclusion, and the responsible use of generative artificial intelligence tools in educational contexts.
Monitoring Results and Enrollment Steps
Throughout the process, the candidate must monitor, on their own initiative, the publications related to the progress of the selection, such as lists of approved applications, preliminary results, final results, enrollment calls, and any reallocations.
All of this information is disclosed on the official website of the Guarulhos Campus.
Approved candidates called for enrollment complete the procedure through a specific IFSP service on the Gov.br platform, which requires prior registration in the federal government’s system.
In this stage, it is necessary to fill out the enrollment form and submit digital copies of documents such as diploma or proof of completion of the degree, academic transcript, identity document, CPF, certificates, proof of electoral clearance, any documentation related to military service, proof of address, and a link to the resume on the Lattes Platform.
The absence of any required documents at the time of enrollment results in loss of the spot and calling of the next candidate in the order of classification.
How to Apply for the Free Specialization in Applied Technologies in Education
To participate in the selection, interested candidates must check if they meet the minimum requirement of having a recognized complete degree by MEC.
Then, they should prepare the required documents in advance and, between December 1 and 12, 2025, complete the IFSP electronic application form, attaching the files as directed in the announcement.
If approved, the next step will be to complete the enrollment through the “Enroll in Postgraduate Course – IFSP” service on the Gov.br platform. Click to read the announcement.
