With the publication of the notice, IFRJ reinforces its policy of expanding access to public and free technical education.
Selection will occur through electronic draw, with no testing, and the entire process will be conducted online, from registration to the announcement of results.
Who Can Participate in the EJA Technical Selection
Participation is allowed for people aged 18 or older at the time of registration who have completed elementary school.
The offer integrates, in a single educational path, components of high school and subjects focused on technical learning or initial training, respecting the guidelines of Youth and Adult Education.
The notice maintains the policy of affirmative actions already adopted by the institution.
There are reserved slots for those who studied entirely in public schools, for low-income candidates, black, brown, indigenous, quilombola individuals, and people with disabilities.
Proof of the quota requirements is mandatory and occurs before enrollment.
Distribution of Slots and Offered Technical Courses
The courses are distributed across different regions of the state and were structured to meet local demands and areas with good professional absorption.
At the Duque de Caxias campus, the offer includes 40 slots for IT Technician, training aimed at basic system development and equipment operation.
In Nilópolis, there are 40 slots for IT Maintenance and Support Technician, an area that involves the installation, configuration, and diagnosis of computers and networks.
The Maracanã campus, in the capital, offers 30 slots for the same course, serving students from the metropolitan area.
In the municipality of Niterói, the available training is for Administrative Assistant, with 35 slots.
The course covers essential routines for the functioning of companies and public agencies, such as document organization, customer service, inventory control, and administrative support.
For those living in the interior of the state, the Pinheiral campus opens 35 slots for Administration Technician, preparing students to work in organizational processes, planning, and managerial support.
The São Gonçalo campus offers 36 slots for Initial Training as an Elderly Caregiver, a field in expansion due to the aging population and the demand for qualified professionals to work in institutions and residences.
Although each course has its own specificities, all follow the logic of integrated EJA.
Students take high school subjects and professional training content simultaneously, with theoretical and practical activities in laboratories, according to each campus’s structure.
How the Draw and Quota System Works
The selection method is exclusively classificatory and does not involve testing.
IFRJ uses a Public Electronic Draw, broadcast live over the internet to ensure transparency.
The order of the draw determines the classification, respecting the division between open competition and quota modalities.
After the final result is published, the selected candidates must present personal documents and, when applicable, the evidence of the information declared in the quotas.
Those who do not meet the requirements may lose their right to the slot, with the next classified candidates being called.
This structure seeks to ensure equal access, especially for people who have been out of school for long periods and wish to resume their studies without the requirement of traditional evaluative processes.
The Importance of EJA Technical Education and Demand for Courses
The integrated model with technical education has gained prominence for uniting school regularization and professional training.
The student graduates from the course with two certificates: one for completion of high school and one for technical or initial training, depending on the chosen unit.
Moreover, the offer in the evening facilitates the attendance of workers and individuals with family responsibilities, who often cannot attend regular daytime classes.
The free nature also expands the initiative’s reach in peripheral regions, where access to private technical courses is often limited.
As a consequence, previous editions recorded high demand, especially for courses related to information technology and administrative areas, which concentrate a large number of job opportunities and require formal qualification.
