IFBA Published Free Postgraduate Notice and EAD in Distance Education for Professional and Technological Education, with 200 Spots in 8 Poles in Bahia, In-Person Meetings.

IFBA opened 200 spots for a free distance specialization aimed at Professional and Technological Education. The registrations already have start and end dates: from February 23 to March 6, 2026, with selection based on documentation and experience.

The course is a lato sensu postgraduate program with 360 hours and an expected duration of 18 months. Although it is EAD, there are mandatory in-person meetings for evaluations and activities, mainly held on Saturdays at the support poles.

Who Has Priority and Who Can Compete for a Spot?

The focus of the notice is to serve professionals in the teaching of Basic Education who work in the public network, especially those linked to the management or daily activities of Professional and Technological Education. Still, the academic requirement is broad.

To apply, you need to:

Undergraduate diploma in any field, recognized by the MEC
Basic computer knowledge, internet, and office tools
Availability for mandatory in-person meetings at the chosen pole

In addition, the spots are distributed by competition modalities:

Open Competition: 45%
Affirmative Actions: 30% (black, indigenous, quilombola, and transgender people)
IFBA Employees: 25%

What Do You Learn to Keep Up with EPT EAD?

The specialization was designed for those who want to work more securely in technical education and digital formats. Therefore, the course combines online study with in-person evaluation and practical moments.

Throughout the training, the trend is to deepen:

Fundamentals of Professional and Technological Education
Planning and organization of distance disciplines
Pedagogical use of digital resources and virtual environments
Evaluation and monitoring of learning in online contexts

Meanwhile, in-person meetings are a mandatory part of the process, ensuring academic validation and practical activities.

What Options Are Open and In Which Cities Can You Study?

This is not a package of several different courses. It is a free postgraduate program, with spots distributed in eight poles in Bahia, differing only in the location of in-person support.

Each pole receives 25 spots, in the cities:

Itaberaba
Itapetinga
Macaúbas
Paulo Afonso
Poções
Santa Maria da Vitória
Teixeira de Freitas
Valença

Thus, those living near one of these municipalities can better organize their routine for Saturday in-person sessions.

Is There a Certificate and What Is the Value of This Title?

Yes. Upon completing the required hours and meeting the academic requirements, the student receives a lato sensu specialization certificate issued by IFBA. Therefore, it is a postgraduate title that enhances the résumé, scores in selections, and can be decisive in progressions, according to the rules of each network.

How Does Registration Work and How Does Selection Choose the Classified?

Registration is free and takes place exclusively online, through the form published in the notice, from February 23 to March 6, 2026. After that, the institution evaluates the application in two stages. Notice link: Notice No. 01/2026/PRPGI/IFBA

First, there is homologation, which eliminates those who do not meet the requirements or do not submit the correct documentation. Then comes the classification by professional experience, with points for time of service, considering experience in EPT, EAD, and teaching in general.
