The Federal Institute of Minas Gerais (IFMG) is currently accepting applications for two announcements, totaling 400 vacancies in free courses of English in the distance learning modality (EaD). Announcement 233/2025: Online English: Four Skills
The announcement 233/2025 aims to select 130 vacancies for students in regular courses, such as technical, undergraduate, and graduate programs. Additionally, there are 40 vacancies for active IFMG staff and 30 vacancies for teachers from the municipal and state networks in the cities that have campuses of the institute.
The application deadline for this course ends on March 14.
This course aims to develop the four essential skills in learning a new language: reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
Throughout the course, students will have access to varied teaching materials, including videos, texts, and interactive exercises, as well as discussion forums that promote interaction between participants and teachers.
Announcement 236/2025: English for Academic Purposes
The announcement 236/2025 aims to select students of distance learning graduate programs at IFMG and teachers from municipal and state networks in the municipalities where the institute’s campuses are located for the course “English for Academic Purposes.”
This announcement offers 150 vacancies for students in distance learning specialization courses and 50 vacancies for teachers. The final application deadline is March 21.
The course “English for Academic Purposes” aims to prepare students to use the English language in academic contexts, such as reading scientific articles, writing academic papers, and participating in conferences.
Students will learn to develop their academic writing skills, as well as improve their listening comprehension and reading in English.
