The Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Southern Minas Gerais (IFSULDEMINAS) has launched the Notice No. 60/2024 for applications for the selection process of free Initial and Continuing Education (FIC) courses. These in-person courses are part of the “Capacita em Rede” project and offer training in various areas, with applications open until today, November 3, 2024. In total, there are 1,659 spots available in 73 different courses, spread across 42 municipalities in the southern region of Minas.

The free courses aim to provide professional training in different areas, addressing the local and regional labor market demands. The classes are in-person, with a workload of 50 hours, divided between theory and practice, depending on the field of study. Practical activities take place at the IFSULDEMINAS or partner institutions. The content includes classroom instructions, practical exercises, case studies, and assessments.

Available Spots and Locations

The 1,659 spots are distributed across five regional centers, covering municipalities such as Cambuquira, Cruzília, Varginha, Itajubá, Campanha, and many others. Some of the available courses include: Sweet and Savory Food Production, Pharmacy Assistant, Low Voltage Building Electrician, Intermediate Computer Skills, Senior Caregiver, Community Garden and Seedling Production, among others. Classes will be held in community spaces, parish halls, schools, and social centers, with classes in various schedules, mainly in the evening.

Selection Process and Criteria

The selection of candidates will be made by order of registration, which means that the first applicants will have priority in the spots. The registrations are free and must be done online, on the IFSULDEMINAS website. The list of selected candidates will be released on November 4, 2024. Additionally, candidates on the waiting list may be called in case of cancellations or remaining spots.

Federal Institute Registration Requirements

To participate in the selection process, candidates must meet the following requirements: CPF number, identity document, minimum education of incomplete elementary school, and minimum age of 16 years (18 years for some specific courses, such as Senior Caregiver). Furthermore, candidates must correctly fill out all fields on the registration form and monitor communications sent via email.
