The Federal Institute of Santa Catarina (IFSC) Has New Free EAD Courses. Registration Can Be Done Until December 20, 2023.
The Federal Institute of Santa Catarina (IFSC) is open for registration until December 20 for three free EAD lato sensu postgraduate courses. The slots are for the courses in Foreign Language Teaching for Basic Education, Technologies for Professional and Technological Education, both in distance learning (EAD) format, and Environmental Education focused on Teacher Training, a face-to-face course at the São José campus.
Free EAD Courses from the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina
The Foreign Language Teaching for Basic Education course aims to train teacher-researchers specializing in foreign language (LE) teaching approaches for basic education, contributing to helping LE teachers to reframe their pedagogical practices in the context of Basic Education and to reframe the concept of digital culture within Basic Education.
The Technologies for Professional and Technological Education course aims to develop theoretical-methodological knowledge about teaching in Professional and Technological Education, from a historical-critical perspective, in favor of reflective professional action that seeks social transformation and human emancipation. It also aims to train specialists capable of critically reflecting on EPT, systematizing, and producing knowledge in this educational modality.

Know How to Apply for Free EAD and In-Person Courses at IFSC
Those interested in the free courses at the Federal Institute must register through the Registration Portal (Editais 17 and 18); candidates should click on “Registration and Monitoring,” select “I Want to Register”, choose the campus and course, fill in the requested data, review the information, generate and save the registration confirmation.
To register for SIG Certame (Edital 19), candidates must click the “Participate” button in the “Study at IFSC” box, select the desired edict, choose the city of the offering, select the free course, log in with their information or create an account, answer the socioeconomic questionnaire, generate and save the registration confirmation, and click “Finish and Exit.”
The selection process for the three free EAD courses will be conducted by public draw, held on December 21. The announcement of the selected candidates in the first call will be on the 22nd of the same month. All free EAD courses will start classes in 2024.
The Federal Institute of Santa Catarina Offers Other Free EAD Courses
The Federal Institute of Santa Catarina is open for registration until January 4, 2024, for the Professional Master’s Course in Professional and Technological Education (ProfEPT), which has slots available nationwide, with 24 offered by the Florianópolis campus of IFSC. The selection will be through an objective test, held on February 25, 2024. The announcement of the selected candidates will be on March 13, and classes will start on April 2.
It is worth noting that the Federal Institute is a federal agency linked to the Ministry of Education (MEC) through the Secretariat for Professional and Technological Education (SETEC). It is based in Florianópolis and has administrative, financial, patrimonial, didactic-pedagogical, and disciplinary autonomy.
