The new unit will be built on an area of 118 thousand square meters in Industrial District V. The land was donated by the City Hall as part of the effort to maintain investment in the city.

The city of Uberaba, in Minas Gerais, will be home to a new factory for the Skala Cosméticos Group, according to an official announcement made by the City Hall this week. The project foresees an initial investment of R$150 million and the generation of 600 direct and indirect jobs.

The new unit will be built on an area of 118 thousand square meters in Industrial District V. The land was donated by the City Hall as part of the effort to maintain investment in the city, in the face of competition from other regions interested in housing the project.

Skala strengthens its roots in Uberaba

Skala, founded in Uberaba almost 40 years ago, decided to maintain its operations in the city despite high demand and external offers for relocation. According to the municipal secretary of Economic Development, Tourism and Innovation, Celso Neto, negotiations with the company were constant and strategic.

“We conducted a firm and ongoing dialogue with the company to ensure that this investment remained here, despite strong competition from other cities,” explained the secretary.

Mayor Elisa Araújo also highlighted the importance of Skala remaining in the municipality.

“This achievement reinforces the idea that Uberaba is a city of prosperity, a land of giants, a land of beauty, because Skala is from Uberaba to the world,” he declared.

Skala's new factory will be modern and will centralize production

Scheduled to open in 2027, the new factory will be responsible for concentrating all of the group's production, replacing the current headquarters, which is located in the urban area of Uberaba. The decision is directly linked to the growth in demand, especially in the international market.

The CEO of the Skala Group, Luis Delfim, stated that the modernization of the structure is accompanied by investments in professional qualification.

“We are starting a training process with our employees so that our workforce can be better qualified in new processes and to work with modern equipment on the production line,” said the executive.

Generation of direct and indirect jobs

In addition to relocating the more than 1.500 employees who currently work at the factory, the new unit is expected to generate around 600 jobs, both direct and indirect, according to the company's own estimates.

During a recent job fair held in Uberaba, Skala received more than 200 resumes from candidates interested in joining the new unit's staff. The expectation is that this number will grow even more as the opening approaches.

The movement in the job market reinforces the positive impact of the investment on the local economy. Skala's new factory promises not only to maintain existing jobs, but also to expand professional opportunities in a sector that has been experiencing strong growth.

Highlight in the vegan cosmetics sector

Skala Cosméticos operates in the personal care segment, focusing on hair and body products. The company has a strong presence in the Brazilian market, with emphasis on hair treatment creams, where it holds a 57% national share. In addition, it currently exports to more than 40 countries.

Since July 2018, the brand has become 100% vegan, using only plant-based ingredients in all its products. This transition has solidified the company's image as a benchmark for sustainable practices aligned with new global consumer demands.

Investment strengthens production chain and attracts new perspectives

Skala’s new factory in Uberaba represents not only a milestone for the company, but also a boost for the entire regional production chain. The announced investment is expected to attract suppliers, service providers and logistics partners to the region, further expanding the economic impact of the facility.

For Uberaba, the project reinforces the city's strategic role as an industrial hub in the interior of Minas Gerais. The City Hall is already working on infrastructure and logistics actions to meet the demand generated by the new unit.

With the confirmation of the new Skala factory, Uberaba reinforces its industrial vocation and prepares to reap the rewards of an investment that combines tradition, innovation and job creation. The expectation is that, by 2027, the city will further consolidate itself as one of the main production centers in the cosmetics sector in Brazil.
