According to a survey of online retail and marketplace sales, the iPhone 13 leads the national preference due to its balance between cost and features, in addition to compatibility with recent iOS updates. But does it still make sense to buy it instead of a newer model?

In practical tests, the iPhone 13 runs all apps from the App Store smoothly and supports heavy games without lag. The only point of concern is the battery in used devices — replacing it with an original one can renew performance. In summary, it still delivers a lot in 2025.

Good Cameras, but with Limitations

The camera system of the iPhone 13 remains relevant: it features two rear sensors (wide and ultra-wide) capable of recording 4K at 60 fps, in addition to offering good quality selfies. It also includes Cinematic Mode and advanced HDR, ideal for social media videos.

On the downside, it lacks an optical zoom camera and the 48 MP sensors found in the Pro models. It also falls short in artificial intelligence and computational photography, which have advanced in the iPhones 15 and 16. Nevertheless, the overall quality remains very good for its price range.

Display and Design: Still Modern, but without High Refresh Rate

The iPhone 13 maintains an elegant look with flat edges, a glass back, and an aluminum body. The 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display offers great definition and brightness. However, the refresh rate is still 60 Hz, which may frustrate those used to smoother displays.

Another detail that shows the age of the model is the wide notch, which feels outdated compared to the Dynamic Island present in newer iPhones. Nonetheless, the design remains visually appealing and continues to be relevant for a large part of the audience.

Updates and Apple Ecosystem

One of the biggest attractions of the iPhone 13 is its longevity. It received iOS 17, is currently in testing with iOS 18, and is expected to continue receiving support for at least three more years. This ensures security and new features for a long time.

Additionally, the model is compatible with MagSafe, Face ID, and the entire Apple ecosystem. However, it does not include the new Apple Intelligence, an AI system exclusive to newer models like the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro.

Price and Cost-Effectiveness

The iPhone 13 is the best-selling entry-level model from Apple in 2025. Its current price ranges from R$ 3,299 to R$ 3,999, depending on the store and capacity. It is considerably cheaper than the iPhone 14 and 15, which already exceed R$ 5,000.

If a user does not care about more advanced features and wants a reliable premium smartphone, the iPhone 13 is a safe choice. It is worth noting that the model is widely praised in consumer reviews at major retailers like Amazon and Magalu.

Even with limitations compared to newer models, the iPhone 13 remains a valid purchase in 2025. It offers solid performance, good cameras, quality display, and support for several more years — all at a more accessible price within the Apple ecosystem.
