Ireland Invests in Expanding the Home Care Sector, Offering Hundreds of Jobs That Can Transform Your Career in the Health and Wellness Sector.

Ireland is offering over 1,500 new job openings for professionals in the home care field, with Dovida, one of the leading companies in the sector in the country, expanding its services.

This significant increase in the number of positions comes in the context of a strategy to expand the company’s capacity to meet the growing demand for specialized care.

If you are seeking a job opportunity in Ireland, this could be the ideal chance to work in a rapidly expanding sector, with good prospects for growth and professional development.

Dovida Expands Its Operations in Ireland with the Creation of New Caregiver Positions

Dovida, which has been operating in Ireland since 2005, is a home care provider recognized for its excellence in serving the elderly.

Recently, the company, which previously operated under the name Home Instead, announced a major expansion of its services in the Irish territory, aiming to increase the availability of home care for a constantly growing customer base.

As part of this expansion, Dovida will hire 1,500 new caregivers across the country, for both part-time and full-time positions.

The Importance of Caregivers in Ireland and the Role of Dovida in Society

The home care sector in Ireland has become increasingly essential as the population ages.

According to Shane Jennings, CEO of Dovida Ireland, the services provided by the company’s caregivers are vital in allowing people to maintain their independence and dignity, living in their own homes, alongside their families and communities.

He states: “Caregivers make a real difference in people’s lives, providing essential support that enables them to continue living with quality of life, despite physical or emotional limitations.”

The launch of a new Dovida center in Westmeath, located in central Ireland, was celebrated by the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Peter Burke, who highlighted the significance of the expansion for local communities, especially for those who rely on this care for a more dignified and independent life.

Competitive Salaries, Flexible Hours, and Specialized Training

The job opportunities offered by Dovida include competitive salaries, flexible working hours, and access to specialized training through the Home Care Professionals Academy.

“We are committed to supporting our caregivers at every stage of their professional journey. The caregiver job is rewarding and has a positive impact on people’s lives,” explains Jennings.

Dovida also stands out for providing a work environment that values its employees and equips them with the necessary tools for high-quality care.

Specialized Caregivers for a Diverse Population

Historically, Dovida has been primarily dedicated to serving individuals over the age of 65, but in recent years, the company has expanded its target audience to serve a broader range of ages and needs.

Currently, about 10% of its clients are under 65 years old, and children under 18 represent 1% of the client base served by the company.

The company’s expansion also includes broadening the types of services offered. In addition to elder care, Dovida now also serves individuals with specific conditions such as acquired brain injuries, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, motor neuron disease, and other conditions that require specialized support.

The company has also begun offering assistance for children and young adults with additional needs, demonstrating its commitment to adapting its services to the needs of an increasingly diverse population.

The Importance of Emotional and Psychological Support in Home Care

In addition to physical support, Dovida has been dedicated to providing emotional and psychological care to its clients.

According to Danette Connolly, Director of Customer Experience and Clinical Governance at Dovida, the company not only offers support in daily activities such as bathing and dressing but has also been working to “help people engage in physical and social activities, providing moments of pleasure and well-being.”

This holistic approach aims to ensure that clients not only receive medical and physical care but can also maintain their quality of life and sense of belonging.

Connolly emphasizes that, with the aging population and the increase in complex health conditions, personalized home care has become a preferable option compared to residential care.

She further explains: “Our caregivers are essential in empowering more people to live independently, carrying out their daily activities and maintaining their happiness and life purpose.”

How to Apply for Caregiver Positions at Dovida

For those interested in one of the 1,500 caregiver positions, the application process can be done directly through the Dovida careers portal.

“We are accepting applications from people from all walks of life. Caregiving is a rewarding career and we look forward to expanding our team to help more people across the country,” concludes Shane Jennings.

When applying, it is important to prepare an updated resume in English, as interviews and selection processes are conducted in that language.
