Itaú Unibanco Offers Internship Opportunities with Reduced Hours, Extensive Benefits, and Diverse Areas of Operation, Providing Students the Chance to Begin Their Careers at One of the Largest Financial Institutions in Latin America.

4-Hour Internship at Itaú

Itaú Unibanco is offering internship positions with a workload of 4 to 6 hours per day, a scholarship of BRL 1,626.67 for 4 hours and BRL 2,440.00 for 6 hours, as well as a robust benefits package.

The opportunities encompass both branch network and corporate areas across different business fronts, with applications accepting resumes from students of various majors throughout the year.

The Itaú internship program is designed to bring university students closer to the daily operations of one of the largest banks in Latin America, in a model that combines reduced hours, accelerated learning, and the possibility of hiring.

The 4-hour daily schedule allows the intern to balance their academic routine with responsibilities at the bank, without giving up substantial experience in the financial market.

This internship format provides access to projects, tools, and methodologies used in the bank’s real operations, in areas ranging from customer service to analytical and technology-related topics.

The proposal is for students to apply, in practice, knowledge from their degree while developing technical and behavioral skills valued in the financial sector.

Moreover, the program has a maximum duration of two years, with the possibility of annual renewal, allowing for a longer trajectory within the institution and the construction of a solid background for future internal or external opportunities.

Areas of Operation at Itaú

Itaú organizes its internship positions into two major categories: commercial internship in the branch network and corporate internship.

In the commercial front, students work in the bank’s branches in various regions of Brazil.

The activities include providing customer service and guidance, assisting in the offering of financial products and services, and participating in initiatives aimed at generating new business, always under the supervision of experienced teams.

This experience helps the intern to practically understand how the bank’s relationship with the public operates and the challenges of financial retail.

The corporate internship, on the other hand, is primarily concentrated in São Paulo and encompasses a wider variety of internal areas.

The bank directs candidates to teams in data, operations, finance, technology, marketing, design, human resources, commercial, retail, and wholesale, among other strategic sectors.

In these cases, students connect to back-end projects that support the bank’s operations on a national scale, focusing on innovation, efficiency, and the development of new products.

Thus, the program accommodates both those who identify with direct customer service roles and those who prefer to work in support, analysis, or development of internal solutions.

Who Can Apply for the Internship

The internship is aimed at university students regularly enrolled in Exact Sciences, Humanities, or business-related fields, provided their studies are related to the areas in which they wish to work.

For the branch network, the bank suggests a preference for students studying administration, accounting, economics, and commercial management, usually from the intermediate semesters of their degree programs.

In corporate vacancies, there is an opening for a broader range of courses, including technology, data, design, marketing, finance, human resources, and other relevant fields for the bank’s internal areas.

In both cases, it is necessary for the student to have at least a year and a half available to intern before completing their degree, in order to fulfill the program’s maximum duration.

Another relevant point is the availability of hours.

Itaú requires candidates to be able to intern for 4, 5, or 6 hours per day, within the range established by the bank.

In the corporate path, the student needs to have the possibility of working in São Paulo, while the commercial internship has positions distributed across different states, according to the needs of the branch network.

In some descriptions, there is also a requirement for a minimum age of 18 years for certain commercial positions.

Benefits Offered by Itaú

In addition to the scholarship of BRL 1,626.67 for 4 hours daily and BRL 2,440.00 for 6 hours, Itaú offers a benefits package similar to that of employees, making the program more attractive compared to traditional internships.

Interns have access to health and dental insurance, life insurance, meal vouchers, and transportation vouchers, the latter intended for public transport use, as described in the bank’s policy.

There are also partnerships with fitness programs such as Wellhub, Gympass, or TotalPass, as well as discounts at partner pharmacies.

Another differentiator is access to internal initiatives such as the Stay OK Program, which focuses on medical, psychological, nutritional, and legal support, as well as benefits in the Itaú Shop and the Itaú Unibanco Club, with units in São Sebastião, Itanhaém, and Guarapiranga.

In some locations, the bank also provides support structures with relaxation spaces, game rooms, reading areas, meditation spaces, a rooftop, sports courts, restaurants, cafes, pharmacies, massage spaces, and bike racks.

For technical development, Itaú also maintains a corporate university, with course and training pathways specifically for interns.

How to Stand Out in the Selection Process

The path to approval goes through stages such as online registration, tests, profile analysis, and interviews with the recruitment teams and area managers.

After registration, the candidate’s profile is assessed and then matched to available vacancies compatible with their education, interests, and availability.

To navigate these stages with more confidence, prior preparation tends to make a difference.

Understanding Itaú’s operations, its main businesses, products, and institutional values helps the candidate articulate their answers better, demonstrate alignment with the organization’s culture, and clearly explain why they wish to start a career in the banking sector.

Another relevant point is to organize concrete examples of academic experiences, extracurricular activities, or previous professional experiences that demonstrate skills such as organization, communication, data analysis, teamwork, and customer attention.

Finally, carefully answering the online tests, keeping the registration updated, and monitoring the emails sent by the bank increases the chances of advancing to the next stages.

How to Apply for the Internship at Itaú

To participate in the selection, the student needs to access the official Itaú Unibanco careers website, locate the pages for the Commercial Internship in the branch network, and the Talent Bank for the Corporate Internship.
