New Off Grid Kit With Motorcycle Battery Is Released: Find Out How The System Works And If It Is Worth Investing. Solar Energy Kit Can Power Water Pumps And Other Appliances.

If you want to build a small solar energy system for your home but don’t know where to start, we present a practical solution: an off grid kit with a motorcycle battery. This kit is made up of affordable equipment that is easy to find in the market.

In this article, you will understand how the system works, the necessary components, and get valuable tips for installation and operation. Discover the “magic” of the off grid system and how it can transform your home into an example of sustainability and energy efficiency.

How Is The Off Grid Kit With Motorcycle Battery Assembled?

The system, showcased on the YouTube channel Tarcisio Simone, is an Off Grid Kit with a 4A and 12.6V motorcycle battery. It is important to remember that this component has a nominal voltage input of 12.6V and a nominal current of 4A.

The kit also includes a PWM charge controller that reduces the plate’s voltage, regulating it to the bank voltage (12 or 24V). In this kit, two 150W panels are used, capable of powering two 35W pumps (70 W/h), a washing machine, a drill, among other appliances. It is also possible to obtain 220V AC using a 3,000W inverter.

When the sun is shining on the solar panel, it generates 18.9V output voltage with a maximum current of 8.2A. This output voltage reaches the PV input of the charge controller, which reduces the voltage to 14.4, the charging voltage of the battery.

As it is a PWM, the maximum output current will be the same as the input. Thus, the off grid kit with motorcycle battery produces a maximum of 118W.

Risks Presented By The Off Grid Kit With Motorcycle Battery

Although it gets the job done, the motorcycle battery is not ideal for this type of solar energy project. With just one solar panel operating, the component already receives too much current. Thus, the system does not function healthily, potentially shortening the battery’s lifespan very quickly.

If a 100A battery were used, it would be possible to operate comfortably with both solar panels, as both would send a maximum of 16A to the batteries, safely charging the component without damaging it, as well as providing greater power to the system, limited only by the inverter.

For those interested in making an Off Grid Kit with a motorcycle battery, it is worth mentioning that each solar panel costs an average of R$ 390, the charge controller costs about R$ 100, and the voltage inverter costs an average of R$ 370. However, prices vary according to the purchasing platform, region, and other statistics.

Advantages Of Owning An Off Grid Solar Kit

By opting for an off grid solar kit, you can become completely independent of the conventional power grid, eliminating the need to pay electricity bills or depend on energy distributors. Furthermore, during power outages, you can continue using the electricity generated by your solar panels.

Using an off grid solar kit is an effective way to contribute to the sustainability of the planet. This system is powered by renewable and clean energy, reducing the emission of toxic gases and decreasing your carbon footprint.

Although the initial investment in an off grid system is higher than installing a grid-connected system, in the medium and long term, the savings are significant due to the absence of electricity bills and the lower maintenance needed for a centralized system.
