Chinese Electric SUV Arrives in Brazil for Testing, Promises Unprecedented Range and Competitive Price in the Electrified Segment, Shaking Up the National Market in 2025.
The Leapmotor C10, Chinese vehicle that caught attention in the international market for its combination of affordable price and extended range, was spotted in tests in Brazil during July 2025.
The presence of the model in national territory highlights the preparations for its official launch, expected still this year, reinforcing the expansion of Asian brands in the electrified vehicle segment in the country.
The C10, which has a starting price in China of less than R$ 100,000 in direct conversion, promises a range sufficient to cover the distance between São Paulo and Salvador without the need for recharging or refueling, depending on the chosen version.

Images shared on social media show the Leapmotor C10 at a Graal gas station, one of the largest chains of roadside stations in Brazil, strategically located on major highways.

The record, made by the Placa Verde profile on Instagram, reveals that the SUV was accompanied by the BYD Song Plus, another notable electric model and a direct competitor of the C10 in the national market.
The use of green plates — designated for electric or hybrid vehicles in the homologation process — confirms that the model is already in testing to obtain approval from Brazilian regulatory bodies.
The arrival of the Leapmotor C10 in Brazil is part of Stellantis’ global strategy, one of the largest automotive manufacturers in the world, which announced in May 2025 the entry of the Chinese brand into South American markets.

The operation in Brazil will be supported by Stellantis, which holds 51% of the joint venture created specifically to market Leapmotor vehicles outside of China.
The C10 will be the brand’s first representative to be sold in Brazil, inaugurating a new phase of electrification and diversification of the Franco-Italian-American giant’s portfolio in the country.
Two Versions for the Brazilian Market
In China, the Leapmotor C10 is available in two configurations: a fully electric (BEV) and a hybrid with range extender (EREV).
The first utilizes a 69.9 kWh battery, which guarantees up to 530 km of range according to the Chinese CLTC (China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle) standard used to measure the performance of electrified vehicles in that country.
The hybrid version (EREV) combines a 231-horsepower (170 kW) electric motor and 320 Nm of torque with a 28.4 kWh battery, capable of running up to 210 km in electric mode only.

The distinguishing feature of this variant is the presence of a 1.5 combustion engine, responsible only for generating energy to recharge the battery, and thereby extend the vehicle’s total range to an impressive 1,190 km, according to the manufacturer’s data.
This range places the Leapmotor C10 EREV among the longest-range SUVs currently available in the world, even surpassing some well-established hybrid models.
The range extender technology allows the driver to cover long distances, such as the route between São Paulo and Salvador — which is approximately 2,000 km — making few or even no stops for recharging, depending on the strategy adopted during the trip.

Features of the Leapmotor C10
The Leapmotor C10 stands out in the medium SUV segment not only for its range but also for its dimensions and technology package.
The model measures 4.73 meters in length, 2.82 meters in wheelbase, and configurations that cater to both families and drivers seeking space and comfort.
In Brazil, the C10 will compete directly with models such as GAC Aion V, Geely EX5, Omoda 5, and BYD Yuan Plus, in addition to popular hybrids like BYD Song Plus, GWM Haval H6, and even electrified versions of the Jeep Compass.
All of these aim for an increasingly relevant market share given the advancement of electrified vehicles.
Although the exact price of the Leapmotor C10 in Brazil has not yet been officially disclosed, industry expectations point to a competitive value, ranging between R$ 200,000 and R$ 230,000.
This positioning aims to broaden access to the electrified SUV segment, whose demand has been consistently growing in recent years, following global trends in electrification and sustainability.
