With 2.4 km in length and R$ 350 million invested, the work on the Engineer Gilberto Paim-Pamplona Bridge is progressing at an accelerated pace on the SP-333 and is expected to be completed by 2026, improving mobility and boosting the regional economy.

The construction of the largest bridge in São Paulo, located over the Tietê River, is progressing quickly. The Engineer Gilberto Paim-Pamplona Bridge, with its impressive 2.4 km length, is being duplicated to meet the increasing traffic demand on the SP-333 highway, linking the municipalities of Pongaí and Novo Horizonte.

With completion expected in the second half of 2026, this project promises not only to improve mobility but also to enhance the safety of drivers using this important logistics corridor.

The Investment of R$ 350 Million and the Accelerated Pace of the Work

The Engineer Gilberto Paim-Pamplona Bridge was built to facilitate traffic on the SP-333 highway, linking Pongaí to Novo Horizonte. It is now being duplicated to support the increase in vehicles and improve mobility in the region.

The construction, which began in August 2024, is following an intense pace. With an investment of R$ 350 million, the expectation is that the new structure will have a significant impact on the region. The SP-333 highway is an essential route for cargo transport, and the duplication of the bridge will facilitate the flow of vehicles, reducing congestion and increasing transportation efficiency.

The Engineering Behind the Duplication of the Largest Bridge in São Paulo

The work is currently in the phase of installing the casings, fundamental structures for the bridge’s support. These tubes, which reach up to 30 meters in height, are being fixed to the bed of the Tietê River to ensure a solid base for the beams and slabs that will form the new roadway.

A total of 124 casings will be installed along the bridge, requiring a high level of technical precision due to the complexity of the project. The next stage will involve the placement of the longitudinal beams and concrete slabs, essential for shaping the new structure and increasing its capacity to support heavy traffic.
