Port of Suape Will Receive New Investment, This Time from Pharmaceutical Companies Blau and Aché, Which Will Generate Many Job Vacancies Still in 2023 for the Population.

Blau Pharmaceutical and Aché Pharmaceutical Laboratories will integrate into the Port of Suape in 2023. Blau is investing R$ 1 billion and intends to generate 1,400 job vacancies, while Aché is investing a little over R$ 800 million, divided into phases of the project, and aims to create 3,000 direct and indirect job vacancies. The decision of the pharmaceutical companies to invest in Suape is due to contributions from the state of Pernambuco and the strategic positioning of the Port.

Learn More About Blau, Its Investment, and the Job Vacancies Open at the Port of Suape

A leader in the institutional sector and a pioneer in biotechnology, Blau is a pharmaceutical company with a portfolio of highly complex medications focused on significant segments in the industry, such as oncology, immunology, hematology, nephrology, antibiotics, and specialties, operating in various therapeutic classes.

With a journey that exceeds 30 years, in 1992, it opened its headquarters in Cotia/SP, with the intention of producing its own medications. Three years later, it opened the doors of the first industrial unit in Caucaia.

The pharmaceutical company currently has 6 subsidiaries distributed across Latin America, including Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Peru, Colombia, and Chile, in addition to plasma collection services in the United States.

Furthermore, it also has a presence in countries such as Ecuador, Paraguay, Vietnam, the Dominican Republic, Thailand, Malaysia, Panama, and Costa Rica.

With investments of R$ 1 billion, Blau Pharmaceutical’s expansion plan will be installed in the Port Industrial Complex of Suape, in Cabo de Santo Agostinho, with construction planned to start in 2023.

The signing of the contract to acquire the 64-hectare area in the Industrial Zone of Suape took place in 2022, during the administration of Paulo Câmara.

Blau’s new initiative aims to generate around 1,400 direct job vacancies as soon as the factory fully begins its operations, projected for 2024.

Get to Know Aché and Its Projects to Be Developed at the Port of Suape

In the second half of 2022, Aché Pharmaceutical Laboratories began a new production in the state of Pernambuco.

The Executive Director of Operations of the pharmaceutical giant, Márcio Freitas, commented in an interview to the column Gente & Negócios about the company’s situation and intentions for the state.

According to Márcio Freitas, Aché’s unit in Pernambuco packages 50% of all solid products from the entire Aché group.

The products arrive from the units in Guarulhos (SP) and Nações Unidas (SP) in bulk (tablets and capsules).

Once the second phase is completed, this project will produce its own solid medications, such as tablets, coated tablets, capsules, and granules.

The goal is to reach over 160 million units of medications in 2023 when it is fully operational.

The purpose of the initial investment was to make the packaging of solid products feasible, their preservation, and that of the inputs in a completely automated vertical warehouse, a stage that was dubbed Phase I.

The total investment amounted to R$ 441.5 million.

The second investment is intended for the production of solid products in Pernambuco, avoiding their transfer from other units, and for the construction of the quality control laboratory, in addition to all the complementary utility areas to serve the factory as a whole.

Dubbed Phase II, this investment was estimated at R$ 363.3 million, bringing the total investment of the two phases to just over R$ 800 million. The new unit will generate 3,000 direct and indirect job vacancies by the end of 2023.

It is no surprise that the Port of Suape in Pernambuco was chosen to receive investments from Blau and Aché, generating job vacancies. Among the reasons that attracted the pharmaceutical companies, one can cite the strategic positioning for the distribution of medications to the North and Northeast and the proximity to the airport. Marcelo Hahn, president of Blau, states: “The State is providing all the necessary contributions, and we found a very complete infrastructure that we did not find in other locations.”
