Brazilian Navy Contest Opens 671 Positions for Men and Women Across Brazil

The Brazilian Navy Has Hundreds of Open Positions in Its 2023 Naval Apprentice Competition. Approved Candidates Will Receive a Subsidy of R$ 1,3 Thousand and Various Benefits.

This week, the Brazilian Navy announced the opening of a new competition for Naval Apprentice. In total, there are 671 vacancies for men and women aged 18 years and under 22 years as of June 30, 2024. Additionally, candidates cannot be married or have children or legal dependents. The training course for Naval Apprentice 2023 will be conducted at the naval apprentice schools in Ceará, Santa Catarina, and Vila Velha. Registered candidates can choose between the Mechanics, Electroelectronics, and Mechanics sectors.

Approved Candidates in the Competition Will Receive a Scholarship of R$ 1,303

The Naval Apprentice 2023 course will be free and in a boarding format, lasting 48 weeks, approximately 11 months. During this period, approved candidates will receive basic education and Military-Naval training content.

As for the course sector, although the applicant has indicated their preference upon registration, the assignment will depend on the interest and availability of the Brazilian Navy. Below is the distribution of vacancies and corresponding courses:

Ceará Naval Apprentice School:

  • 113 vacancies for the support sector, 104 for electroelectronics, and 104 for mechanics.

Santa Catarina Naval Apprentice School:

  • 51 for the mechanics area, 51 for electroelectronics, and 51 for support.

Vila Velha Naval Apprentice School:

  • 95 vacancies for the electroelectronics sector, 80 for support, and 51 for mechanics.

Additionally, approved candidates in the competition will receive a subsidy of R$ 1,303.90, which corresponds to R$ 143.65 for military additional pay, R$ 55.25 for military availability additional pay, according to the law, plus the corresponding amount of R$ 1,105.

It is important to mention that uniforms, meals, and medical, psychological, dental, social, and religious assistance are provided by the Brazilian Navy.

Learn How to Register for the 2023 Naval Apprentice Competition

Registrations for the 2023 Naval Apprentice competition are open until February 12 on the Brazilian Navy Personnel Selection Service page. Interested individuals must pay a fee of R$ 40 until February 16, preferably at Banco do Brasil, Santander, Bradesco, Itaú, and Caixa Econômica Federal.

The announcement states that registered individuals in the Unified Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico) with a monthly family income per person equal to or less than half the national minimum wage can request a fee exemption through a specific request between January 30 and February 3. The exemption request can also be made via Registered Letter.

In this case, the candidate must send the required documentation to the Navy Selection Service – Registration Division, located at Rua Visconde de Itaboraí, nº 69, in Downtown Rio de Janeiro (RJ), ZIP code: 20.010-060. The list of approved and denied requests will be available at the Organization Responsible for Local Execution (OREL) and on the SSPM pages on February 13.

Understand How the Brazilian Navy Competition Tests Will Be Conducted

The first stage of the selection process will be through an objective exam, which is qualifying and eliminatory. The exam will consist of 55 questions on general knowledge covering the subjects of Science (Physics and Chemistry), Portuguese Language, Mathematics, and English.

After the examination, there will also be a verification of biographical data, physical fitness test for admission, health inspection, complementary hetero-identification to self-declaration (only for those who declared themselves as black), psychological evaluation, and document verification.
