In 2025, MAT reached the highest sales volume in its history, with a strong concentration on biogas compression systems, accompanying the regulatory and industrial expansion of this renewable fuel in the country.
Firstly, MAT closed the year 2025 with a record performance in the Brazilian gas compression systems market, thus consolidating itself as one of the main suppliers in the sector. According to data released by the company itself, sales of compression equipment and accessories exceeded R$ 30 million, representing the largest annual volume ever recorded by the company throughout its trajectory.
Moreover, throughout 2025, MAT expanded its presence in all segments of the gas sector, which consistently reinforced its national operations. In this way, the company’s compressors were installed in natural gas and biogas production plants, CNG stations for light and heavy vehicles, landfills, compression bases, and also in wellhead operations, accompanying the diversification of energy demand in the country.
In this context, the advancement of biogas deserves emphasis. According to the period’s report, approximately 70% of the equipment sold in 2025 was allocated to compression, storage, and transportation operations of biogas. Thus, the result directly reflects the expansion of projects associated with this renewable fuel, especially in the context of decarbonization of the industry, the transport sector, and the Brazilian energy matrix.

Meanwhile, MAT’s operations in this segment gained strength starting in 2022, when the company began to sell equipment produced by the Italian manufacturer GRAF, in association with its own line of products developed in Brazil. With 85 years of history, the company has since integrated international technology with national production, strengthening its position in the gas and biogas solutions market.
According to Luís Fernando Assaf, president of MAT, the performance achieved in 2025 reflects a broader structural movement. According to the executive, the observed growth accompanies the evolution of biogas and, above all, biogas in Brazil, driven by regulatory changes, the search for renewable sources, and the emissions reduction targets adopted by different productive sectors.
This scenario is confirmed by data from CIBiogás. According to the reference center, in 2024, Brazil had 79 registered biogas plants, with 54 units in operation and 25 in the implementation phase. As a direct result of this progress, the supply of biogas in the country grew by 107% throughout 2025, thereby strengthening the demand for compression systems and associated infrastructure.
Parallel to the commercial growth, MAT also advanced in its strategy for nationalizing the production chain. In this sense, the company is studying to start, in 2026, the local production of compressors, which represents a significant step within its long-term strategy. At the same time, the company has been making continuous investments in its engineering team and establishing strategic partnerships with companies specialized in equipment maintenance installed in Brazil.
Additionally, the potential national production of these equipment may broaden MAT’s access to financing lines, especially through instruments such as Finame, traditionally aimed at financing capital goods manufactured in the country. In this way, nationalization tends to strengthen both the competitiveness and the investment capability of the company.
Currently, the MAT group maintains an industrial plant in Jundiaí, São Paulo, dedicated to the manufacturing of cylinders, and another unit in Porto Real, Rio de Janeiro, focused on the production of trailers for cylinder transport. Thus, throughout 2025, the company consolidated its industrial structure, aligning commercial growth, biogas expansion, and strategic planning for the coming years.
