Cause of the Explosion at the Oil Refinery Is Unknown
Pertamina stated in a note that the fire at the refinery, which can process 125,000 barrels per day, occurred during a storm.
“The cause of the fire is unknown, but there was heavy rain and lightning during the incident,” said Pertamina.
The state oil company said it was shutting down the refinery and conducting a “flow control of oil” to prevent further spread. It stated that fuel supply was not interrupted due to the fire.
