There was an explosion followed by the fire, according to witnesses. Dozens of cargo cars were parked at the site. There were no casualties, and the cause of the fire is still unknown.
Around 1 PM, the flames subsided. Petrobras’ fire brigade, the Fire Department, civil defense fire brigades, and the municipal guard worked at the site to control the flames. The cargo cars next to the fire needed to be cooled to prevent the fire from spreading and causing further explosions.
Fire Did Not Affect Operations at the Petrobras Refinery
