Petrobras Projections Are That Volume Will Jump From The Current 600 Thousand Barrels Per Day To 2 Million Barrels
Petrobras expects to more than triple its installed oil production capacity in the Búzios field, in the pre-salt layer of the Santos basin, by the end of the decade. The forecast is that the volume will jump from the current 600 thousand barrels per day, with four platforms, to 2 million barrels per day with the installation of seven more units.
Construction of New Platforms Has Already Started in Búzios
This information was one of the highlights of the Petrobras panel on the third day of Rio Oil & Gas 2022, presented by company managers. Engineer Jaime Naveiro informed during the event that there are currently seven platforms under construction or in the construction phase in the Búzios field. In addition, he stated that the FPSO Almirante Barroso is coming to Brazil to complete the commissioning stage.
According to him, the FPSO Almirante Tamandaré (the sixth unit) is in an advanced stage of construction, with the hull already floating and in commissioning. The P-78 and P-79 are in the initial construction stage, and contracts have already been signed for the construction of P-80 (in August) and P-83 (Wednesday, the 28th). He stated that the expectation is to sign the contract for P-82 soon.
