Free Online Open Courses Focus on LinkedIn Demand
Using data from LinkedIn and the Burning Glass Institute, Microsoft analyzed job listings to identify the six roles in highest demand: Project Manager, Administrative Assistant, Business Analyst, Systems Administrator, Data Analyst, and Software Developer.
The new free and certified courses will be available in seven languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese. This expansion is based on the commitment of Microsoft and LinkedIn to support inclusive economic opportunities so that students worldwide have equal access to the skills, opportunities, and technologies needed to succeed in a digital economy.
According to the President of Microsoft Brazil, Tânia Cosentino, the company has partnered with LinkedIn on its journey to provide training opportunities and acknowledges that there is much more to be done.
Now and in the future, a significant portion of the modern workforce will need to learn or have digital skills to work in high-demand roles and be prepared for an increasingly dynamic economy.
Companies Speak Out
Through this new program of free courses and supported by strategic partnerships with the public sector and non-profit organizations, it is possible to contribute to providing society with training courses and increasing the employability chances of Brazilians on a large scale.
“The expectation is to provide opportunities for millions of people to learn the skills most necessary for success in the digital economy,” says Cosentino.
For the General Director of LinkedIn Latin America, Milton Beck, continuous learning is a necessary skill in this scenario of constant change where there is a greater demand for the workforce’s qualifications to deal with emerging technologies.
