Nexa Mining, one of the largest global zinc producers, is offering internship positions in the state of Minas Gerais, specifically in the municipalities of Juiz de Fora, Três Marias, and Vazante do Morro Agudo. The maximum duration of the internship will be two years (one year extendable for an additional year), with possibility of permanency, to be defined according to the needs of each area.
Nexa has a development and training area that has a structured plan for interns, which involves many practical challenges (the day-to-day work), training aimed at developing soft and hard skills, and to top it off, a project under the responsibility of the intern (with, of course, support from the manager).

About the Internship Positions in Dam Management at Nexa in Minas Gerais
Nexa is looking for someone to perform internship activities related to the environmental management system of the unit and to technically monitor the review and/or supervision of various documents, especially those related to the Integrated Dam Management System (SIGBAR) of the unit. If you are communicative, courageous, proactive, and have a critical work style, this position is for you!
- Prerequisites: Studying Civil Engineering/Mines Engineering/Water Resources Engineering/Geology (in progress) – from the 8th semester; Reading and interpretation of technical drawings; Preparation and writing of technical documents; Mastery of MS Office (Office 365 – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), cloud computing, AutoCAD; Knowledge of environmental management systems and Dam Safety (Instrumentation and Inspections); Desired knowledge in dam management (Instrumentation and Inspections), Geotechnics.
- Main Responsibilities: Monitor the routine activities related to the environmental management system of the unit; Under supervision, technically act in the review of various documents, especially those related to the Integrated Dam Management System (SIGBAR) of the Juiz de Fora unit; Contractually follow up on activities related to the operation of the mass communication system (sirens); Contractually monitor flow measurement activities, monitoring of geotechnical instruments; Participation in the development of hydrological-hydraulic studies and hypothetical dam break scenarios; Gather and systematize the needs/history of maintenance and civil conservation occurrences, especially related to activities involving Dam Safety; Supervise/inspect field services related to civil works, dam safety, and civil maintenance; Assist in conducting routine dam safety inspections and civil structure inspections, with recording, monitoring, and storage of information; Monitor the readings of the monitoring instruments, as well as act in the maintenance routine of the same to ensure the continuity and reliability of the records; Conduct the pre-analysis in the monthly assessment of the behavior of the dam safety instruments; Participate in the Regular Dam Safety Inspections.
