The vehicle is compact with a modern look, opting for a squarer shape and a bolder front compared to its “older sibling.”
What Will Change in the New Mini Electric Car from China?
A significant difference compared to its predecessor is that the Wuling Air will be sold with two body configurations, the first featuring a shorter wheelbase, accommodating 2 people, and the other with a longer wheelbase, accommodating 4 occupants.
The first Wuling Air has a length of 2,974mm, a height of 1,505mm, a width of 1,631mm, a weight of 860 kg, and a wheelbase of 2,010mm. The second configuration features a length of 2,599mm, a height of 1,505mm, a width of 1,640mm, and a weight of 760 kg.

Another point is that the design will also undergo changes between its two configurations, where the larger model for 4 occupants has a lower rear window, with the handle positioned between the window and the door.

Produced by the joint venture SAIC-GM-Wuling, the Wuling Air EV is equipped with a electric motor that delivers 40 horsepower, with front-wheel drive. Other specifications have yet to be disclosed by the company; however, the battery of the mini electric car from China will be lithium iron phosphate.
The vehicle will reach a top speed of 100 km/h, given its exclusively urban proposal. The new mini electric car from GM will be sold in the Asian market in the third quarter of this year, and according to the company, the estimated starting price is 55,000 yuan for the shorter version, which directly converts to R$ 39,500, and 65,000 yuan for the longer wheelbase model, which is equivalent to R$ 46,500.
Meet the First Version of the Mini Electric Car from China
Closing the year 2021 in third place in the overall sales ranking, with over 426,000 units sold, the mini EV outperformed several well-known cars such as the Haval H6.
The Wuling Hongguang Mini EV is 2,917 mm long, 1,493mm wide, and 1,621mm tall. At the front, the headlights are separated by a black bar. The special Macaron version features LED daytime running lights and glossy black details on the grille and the rear hatch.
Its wheelbase is 1,940 mm. If the owners fold down the seat, the car has 741 liters of cargo space. The interior of the electric vehicle is simple, with the dashboard featuring a single technological item, which is the digital instrument panel situated behind the steering wheel. The Wuling Hongguang Mini EV is equipped with an electric motor that produces 27 horsepower and a torque equivalent to 85 Nm.
