Bento Albuquerque, the Minister of Mines and Energy, visited various projects developed by the Itaipu Technological Park (PTI) mine in Foz do Iguaçu on Thursday afternoon. The Minister of Mines and Energy looked at several projects that could receive funding, which include energy, electric system simulation, and cybersecurity, that could be promoted in the national electric sector.

The Minister of Mines and Energy says that the main objective is to understand these projects as part of a process conducted by other companies and institutions related to the Ministry.
Bento says, “We want to leverage these projects and enhance them, along with others that will be defined as priorities by the National Energy Policy Council.” “In this way, we will have better products at a lower cost for the Brazilian consumer, in addition to promoting technological development, which is so important for any country.”

We hope that these policies will help sustain these PTI projects,” says Bento.
The Itaipu Technological Park:
The PTI also hosts three university campuses, totaling 27 specialization courses, 10 master’s programs, and six doctoral programs. The space is frequented by 7,000 people, including professionals, students, and professors.
General Silva e Luna, who also accompanied the visit to the PTI, said, “The PTI has solutions for issues that are critical worldwide, such as cybersecurity. And often these solutions are not so well-known. So, it is important to have this kind of exchange with the Ministry of Mines and Energy, so that this type of action can be replicated in other structures across the country.”
