Chinese Company Provided 60 Electric Buses To Governments And Municipalities In The Country
The Chinese manufacturer has already delivered more than 60 electric buses to municipalities and governments across the country. Although it may seem few, Brazil has only 350 electric buses, most of which are trolleybuses powered through a network of wires installed along the vehicle’s route.
In the buses used by BYD, charging is done at charging stations, and the vehicles have a range of 250 kilometers. Furthermore, the models can be charged in just 3 to 4 hours.
The manufacturer sees potential for the country to have over 10,000 electric buses in operation in the coming years. As the idea is also to use the Brazilian factory to export to other countries, an expansion is being planned by BYD. Marcello supports the acceleration of the transition to electric vehicles and notes that the public sector will be one of the main protagonists in these changes.
