Toll Price on Santos-Guarujá Tunnel Was Announced and Scares Drivers. Toll on Santos-Guarujá Tunnel Is 9 Times Higher Than Rio-Niterói Bridge. With the Charge on Santos-Guarujá Tunnel, This Will Be the Most Expensive Toll in Brazil.
Considering the length, the toll for the Santos-Guarujá tunnel will be proportionally nine times more expensive than what is charged to drivers on the Rio-Niterói Bridge, which also had billion-dollar costs. Thus, the toll for the Santos-Guarujá tunnel will have the same value as the ferry. The notice and concession published last Thursday (27) highlight that the charge on the Santos-Guarujá tunnel will be R$ 6.15 for cars, in both directions, making it the most expensive toll in Brazil.
Toll for Santos-Guarujá Tunnel Should Be Above the Established Base
The concession notice, as mentioned above, establishes a base of R$ 6.15 for traveling 1.5 km. Therefore, for each km, an equivalent of R$ 4.1 will be charged. On the Rio-Niterói Bridge, the current base fare is R$ 6.20 for its 13.4 km, equivalent to R$ 0.46 per km.
Thus, the charge on the Santos-Guarujá tunnel is the most expensive toll in Brazil. The tunnel works are estimated at R$ 6 billion. In updated values, the bridge, which was inaugurated in 1974, cost R$ 9 billion.

The government opens the vault and deposits R$ 2.6 billion for the construction of Brazil’s first underwater tunnel, with a length of 1.5 km, 870 m under the sea, a total project cost of R$ 6.8 billion, and a 30-year concession.

Only 46 meters remain for Brazil and Paraguay to connect via the Bioceanic Route bridge, the project that will link the Atlantic to the Pacific by land and change the logistical map of four countries in South America.

The bridge that holds the largest stone railway arch in the world: built over 100 years ago, destroyed in the war, and rebuilt to continue operating to this day, it still carries trains over the Soča River in Slovenia.

Italian giant of 130 tons arrives at the Senna Tower construction site and accelerates foundations: Mite CFA 3436 drills up to 50 m, 750 hp engine, investment of R$ 20 million, unique in Latin America.
The toll for the Santos-Guarujá tunnel will charge for both ways. The base value presented in the notice for the most expensive toll in Brazil is R$ 6.15 for cars, R$ 3.07 for motorcycles, and R$ 18.35 for buses and trucks with two to three axles. In practice, the toll price on the Santos-Guarujá tunnel should be higher than this.
Tunnel with the Most Expensive Toll in Brazil Will Be the Largest Project of the New PAC
The charge on the Santos-Guarujá tunnel will not be by toll booths; instead, an automatic free-flow system will be installed, where a sensor sends the charge to a specific account. It is also planned that the concessionaire will install a fixed radar for speed control in the tunnel.
The notice provides for the possibility of creating plans with specific toll prices for the Santos-Guarujá tunnel for each category of users, days of the week, and times, although it does not detail those who will benefit from this type of charge in the Santos-Guarujá tunnel, the most expensive toll in Brazil. The plan requires approval from the regulatory agency and the granting authority.
Included in the New PAC, the project will be the largest work of the federal program. Currently, more than 21,000 vehicles cross the two banks every day using ferries and catamarans, in addition to 7,700 cyclists and 7,600 pedestrians. With the new structure, the crossing will be done in a few minutes, reducing queues and improving the logistical flow of the Port of Santos.
Santos-Guarujá Tunnel Will Have 1.5 km of Extension
The toll for the Santos-Guarujá tunnel will be charged for a 1.5 km extension where, of this total, 870 meters are submerged. There will be three lanes in each direction, with one of them for the Light Rail Vehicle (VLT). The structure will also have access for the crossing of pedestrians and cyclists. The expectation is that the works will begin later this year.
In addition to the toll price on the Santos-Guarujá tunnel disclosed in the notice, Broadcast Politico, a real-time news system from the Estado group, reported that eight companies have already expressed interest in participating in the auction.
Among the companies are the Spanish Acciona, which is the concessionaire responsible for the future Line 6-Orange of the São Paulo metro, the Concremat group, the multinational China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), EcoRodovias, Novonor, EGTC Infra, the Portuguese group Mota Engil, and Webuild from Italy.

Tá caro? É só não usar! Deixa um mês sem passar veículos e vamos ver se o preço não cai pela metade…
Além do supefaturamento, vai demorar mais q o anunciado, se começar né! Brasil, país do, será q sai? Será q acaba? Qto foi desviado?
Essa análise está equivocada! Se o preço é equivalente ao da balsa, pergunte ao pessoal que fica duas horas na fila da balsa se o preço está caro.
