September brings variations in prices: Diesel increases while gasoline and ethanol show a slight drop.

In September, Brazilian drivers noticed notable differences in fuel prices. Diesel marked an increase of 0,54%, on the other hand, gasoline and ethanol had slight drops of 0,30% and 0,07%, respectively. For those who own flex-fuel vehicles, ethanol proved to be more economical in 15 states in Brazil.

Variations in Gasoline

Recommended articles

Based on the weekly study of ValeCard, mobility specialist, between September 08th and 14th, the price of gasoline decreased by 0,30%. São Paulo stood out for its more affordable price, while Rondônia had the highest price.

Brendon Rodrigues, head of innovation at ValeCard, attributes this stabilization in gasoline prices to ethanol, which has become more economically attractive. However, he warns of possible changes in the coming weeks, due to Petrobras' adjustments and fluctuations in the oil market.

Ethanol and its Competitiveness

During the same week, hydrated ethanol, widely used as fuel, also saw a 0,07% reduction. Rodrigues comments that this decline is linked to the increase in sugarcane production, influencing the entire fuel production chain.

For owners of flex-fuel vehicles, the decision between fueling with gasoline or ethanol is crucial. According to ValeCard standards, ethanol is financially advantageous when its price per liter is up to 70% of the value of gasoline.

Rise in Diesel Price

Finally, diesel, an essential fuel for freight transport in the country, saw an increase of 0,54% in its price. Rio Grande do Sul offered the most affordable diesel, while Roraima had the highest value.

Conclusion

With the constant variation in fuel prices, drivers need to be aware of fluctuations and the economic benefits of each option. The research and analyzes of ValeCard are essential for us to understand the market and make more informed choices when fueling our vehicles.
