The Xamano Group, a Chinese Multinational, Announces Million-Dollar Investment in the State of Goiás. Generating Hundreds of New Jobs, the Company Will Focus on Green Ammonia Production.
The Chinese multinational Xamano Group announced last Thursday (12) a investment of R$ 53 million in an unprecedented pilot project in Brazil. The project marks the company’s entry into green ammonia production, an initiative that promises to revolutionize the sustainable energy sector in the country. In addition, Xamano plans to use this raw material for fertilizer production in the municipality of Goianésia, Goiás, in partnership with the industrial park of the Jalles Machado Group. This initiative reinforces the company’s commitment to sustainability and positions Brazil on the path of global innovations in clean energy and agricultural production.
Chinese Multinational Comments on Investment
The president of Xamano Group, Wei Wang, explained that the production of green ammonia from hydrogen, and the subsequent manufacturing of fertilizers involves an “economic” business model. He emphasized that, in the near future, it should be replicated on large farms across the country.
According to the executive, this investment from the Chinese multinational will further contribute to the development of agriculture. The goal, he stated, is to reach 2,600 tons of ammonia per year at the Goianésia unit.

According to the Vice Governor, Daniel Vilela, Goiás has a strong interest in closing partnerships with serious investors who, like the Chinese, work with clean technology.
In this regard, the state seeks to always be ahead. He also highlights to the Chinese multinational that the country is currently a major importer of fertilizers. The advancement in the production of this agricultural input on Goianese soil is advantageous for both agribusiness and the Chinese multinational.
Also present at the meeting were the Secretary-General of the Government (SGG), Adriano da Rocha Lima, the president of Xamano Group, Wei Wang, directors Claudia Wu and Victor Emanuel Ribei, and the CEO of Jalles Machado, Otavio Lage Filho. The Vice Governor highlighted data that, according to him, qualifies Goiás to receive investments from China and other countries.
Why Will Investments Be Focused on the State of Goiás?
According to the Vice Governor, the state’s economy is experiencing an incredible moment, as evidenced by the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) figures. Education and public safety have become a national reference. Additionally, there is already an established social protection network, which in 2023 helped lift many families out of poverty.
Thus, Vilela states that the Chinese multinational Xamano Group can make investments with safety and peace of mind. The head of the SGG reminded the Chinese investors that the country is currently a major importer of fertilizers. The advancement in the production of this agricultural input on Goianese soil is advantageous for both agribusiness and the Chinese multinational.
Goiás has a consumer market and occupies a strategic position, being well centralized compared to other states. This will facilitate the company’s logistical process, according to Adriano da Rocha Lima. What he observes in the state is that the project presented by the Chinese multinational for green ammonia production aligns well with what the government envisions and plans for the future.
How Does Green Ammonia Production Work?
To produce green ammonia, hydrogen must first be obtained through a process of water electrolysis. That is, water is decomposed into hydrogen and oxygen, using electricity generated from clean sources.
The hydrogen is then combined with atmospheric nitrogen through a process called Haber-Bosch synthesis, allowing the hydrogen and nitrogen to react under high pressure and temperature in the presence of a catalyst to form ammonia.
The result is the production of green ammonia using green hydrogen and atmospheric nitrogen. The process of green ammonia production does not emit CO2, and thus the estimate is that there will be an exponential growth in its production to replace gray ammonia and that it can be used for other purposes.
