Governor Ratinho Junior highlighted the positive moment of the Paraná economy, which is growing three times above the national average. According to him, the partnership with companies like LG multinational boosts the development of the state.
To give an idea, the last Census (2022) highlighted Fazenda Rio Grande as the second municipality in Brazil that had, proportionally, the highest population growth in Brazil. The number of inhabitants nearly doubled in 12 years, increasing from 81 thousand to almost 150 thousand residents. Mayor Marco Marcondes hopes that the installation of the new factory in Brazil will offer many jobs to the residents.
Referred to as the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the document signed at the time was a protocol of intentions between the parties, marking the stage that precedes the installation process of the investment, through which the State Government and LG commit to establishing joint efforts to facilitate the start of operations.
LG Multinational Has Had a Factory in Brazil for Over 27 Years,
According to Ratinho Junior, referring to the recent results released by the Central Bank about the 7.8% growth in the state’s economic activities, this is an excellent moment for Paraná, which last year had the highest economic growth in Brazil, three times greater than the national average, resulting precisely from these partnerships it is forming with large companies from around the world.
With operations in Brazil for over 27 years, the company already has a factory in the Free Trade Zone of Manaus (ZFM), in Amazonas.
The investment for the installation of the new factory in Brazil, which promises to create MANY jobs, is linked to the objective of establishing a local production system allied with the strategy of selling premium products. An example is the InstaView technology, which allows users to see the contents of the refrigerator from a display on the door.
In May of Last Year, Rumors Emerged About a New LG Multinational Factory in Santa Catarina
In May, it was also announced that the city of Garuva, in northern Santa Catarina, remains among the most qualified to receive the new LG technology company’s factory in southern Brazil. This week, a delegation of state deputies from Santa Catarina was in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, for a series of meetings that discussed diplomatic and economic ties, as well as cooperation in trade, technology, and education.
In May of last year, Lieutenant Governor Marilisa Boehm informed that the Korean company’s priority choice was Santa Catarina.
Even with the installation of a factory in Paraná, the arrival of a unit in Garuva, however, is still under consideration and remains in the plans of the representatives from Santa Catarina, generating hundreds of direct and indirect jobs.
Besides the discussions with LG multinational, the delegation visited strategic locations in Seoul, such as the Brazilian embassy, the South Korean parliament, and the local Ministry of Justice.
