Chevrolet Onix 2025 Surprises With An Updated 1.0 Turbo Engine, Now With Direct Injection, Elevating Power To 121 Hp. Furthermore, The Model Will Receive A Redesign And New Technologies Such As The Virtual Cockpit System.

The Chevrolet Onix 2025 Promises To Revolutionize The Market With An Update That Goes Beyond Aesthetic Changes And Focuses On Performance.

While Many Were Expecting Just A Subtle Redesign, The Manufacturer Surprised By Announcing Important Changes Under The Hood. But What Exactly Makes The New Onix So Special?

According To Information Gathered By Quatro Rodas, Chevrolet Will Make A Crucial Modification To The 1.0 Turbo Three-Cylinder Engine, Which Will Now Use Direct Injection.

This Change Is Necessary To Meet The Requirements Of Proconve L8, But The Benefits Go Beyond Compliance With Environmental Standards. With The Update, The Engine Power Will Increase From 116 Hp To 121 Hp.

Greater Performance And Efficiency

Direct Injection Not Only Boosts Power But Should Also Improve Torque And Engine Efficiency. Although The Exact Torque Has Yet To Be Confirmed, Expectations Are High.

The Previous Model Manufactured In China Achieved 125 Hp And 18.3 Kgfm Of Torque, Numbers That Far Exceed The 16.8 Kgfm Of The Current Engine In Brazil.

Moreover, With The New Technology, It Is Expected That Maximum Torque Will Be Available At Lower RPMs, Which Enhances The Vehicle’s Performance, Especially During Accelerations And Overtakings.

According To Sources Linked To The Manufacturer, The Update Is Expected To Be Implemented Even Before The Redesign Planned For Early 2025.

Modern Redesign And Technological Interior

In The First Quarter Of 2025, The Chevrolet Onix Is Expected To Gain A New Visual Identity That Will Follow General Motors’ Global Standard.

The Front Grille Will Be Redesigned In A Trapezoidal Shape And Will Feature A Horizontal Bar That Cuts Through The Brand’s Logo.

The Headlights Will Also Be Modernized, Becoming Thinner And More Sophisticated, With Full-LED Lighting In The Top-End Versions.

Inside, The Onix Will Receive A Technological Setup Already Present In Other Chevrolet Models, Such As The Tracker And The Spin.

The Dashboard Will Feature The Virtual Cockpit System (VCS), Which Combines An 8” Digital Instrument Display With An 11” Multimedia Center.

This Upgrade Elevates The Driving Experience, With A Clean And Intuitive Design.

Tracker And Montana Also Benefit

The Updates Are Not Limited To The Onix. Models Such As The Tracker And Montana 2025 Will Also Receive More Powerful Engines Thanks To Direct Injection.

The Tracker, For Example, Has Already Started Being Distributed To Dealerships With The 1.0 Turbo Engine Rated At 121 Hp.

In Addition, Versions Of The Tracker And Montana Equipped With The 1.2 Turbo Engine Have Also Been Updated.

With The Use Of Direct Injection, The Ethanol Power Increased From 133 Hp To 141 Hp, While The Torque Increased From 21.5 Kgfm To About 23 Kgfm.

Why Did Direct Injection Take So Long?

Although Direct Injection Is A Consolidated Technology, Its Implementation In Chevrolet’s National Vehicles Was Delayed Due To Cost Concerns.

According To Investigation By Quatro Rodas, The CSS Engines Were Already Prepared For This Technology Since Development, But The Decision Was Postponed To Keep Prices Competitive.

Now, With The Need To Comply With Proconve L8 Standards And The Growing Demand For Greater Efficiency, The Manufacturer Is Finally Bringing The Innovation To The Brazilian Market.

The Future Of Onix

With The Arrival Of The 2026 Line, The Chevrolet Onix Is Expected To Solidify Its Position As The Sales Leader In The Segment.

In Addition To Mechanical And Aesthetic Improvements, The Brand Is Betting On Connectivity And Comfort To Attract Consumers.

It Remains To Be Seen How Competitors Will React To These Changes And If The Innovations Will Be Sufficient To Keep The Onix At The Top.

After All, In An Increasingly Competitive Market, Technology And Efficiency Are Decisive Differentiators.

And What Do You Think, Will The New Engine With Direct Injection Be Enough To Keep The Onix As The Favorite Of Brazilians?
