The meeting included representatives from the Federation of Industries of the State of Santa Catarina (FIESC), the National Service for Industrial Training of Santa Catarina (SENAI SC), the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), the company WEG, the Santa Catarina Technology Association (ACATE), and Itajaí Participações. Federal Deputy Ângela Amin and Senator Espiridião Amin were also present.
Base of the Naval Projects Company for Construction of the Brazilian Navy’s Frigates Inaugurated at the Oceana Shipyard in Itajaí, Santa Catarina
The Naval Projects Management Company of the Brazilian Navy (Emgepron) inaugurated its base located in Santa Catarina to accompany the development and execution of the construction project for the Class Tamandaré ships (frigates) at the Oceana shipyard. Itajaí is already nationally recognized as the capital of shipbuilding and is expected to soon become a reference in Latin America.
The contract for the naval construction of four vessels at the Oceana shipyard in Santa Catarina was signed by the Brazilian Navy and the Águas Azuis consortium. The project is estimated at over 6 billion reais, with expectations to generate 2,000 direct jobs and about 6,000 indirect jobs at peak production.
