The new Betânia powdered milk factory will be installed in the city of Morada Nova, in Ceará. The forecast is that the new industry will generate income and jobs in the area.

A new dairy product factory will be installed in the state of Ceará, which is only being possible because the governor Camilo Santana and his secretary for Economic Development and Labor, Maia Júnior, convinced the partner and CEO of Betânia Lácteos, Bruno Girão, to build in Ceará and not in Bahia, as was foreseen. The factory – already in the testing phase – will receive R$ 50 million in investment, generating income and jobs in the state. The agreement for the new factory to be installed in Ceará

The initial understandings between the government of Ceará and Betânia were made by its partner and director of Institutional Affairs, Jorge Parente Frota Júnior. Ceará won the competition for the Betânia Lácteos powdered milk factory, offering it a better menu of tax incentives than the one presented by the Bahian government.

In a preliminary meeting, Bruno Girão, Maia Júnior and Jorge Parente agreed on the location of the factory in Morada Nova, where Grupo Betânia has a modern industrial plant, which produces the entire line of dairy products. Then, the decisive meeting was with Governor Camilo Santana, who ensured that the incentive menu was granted.

The new Betânia Lácteos unit and job creation in Ceará

Betânia's powdered milk factory in Morada Nova will have Argentine equipment, which will be able to process up to 200 liters of milk daily, transforming them into powdered milk. At first, the packages of milk powder, with the Betânia brand, will be of 200 and 800 grams for the domestic consumer; industrial packaging will be in 25 kilo bags.

Grupo Betânia's new factory in Ceará, which will be inaugurated on a date to be scheduled by Governor Camilo Santana, is creating 50 new direct jobs.

Negotiations for the sale of Troller are already at advanced levels and the potential buyer is already thinking about bringing operations to Ceará. But for that to happen, it will be necessary to transfer the Troller factory to Porto do Pecém, on account of graphene.

The possible recipient of the Troller is the Export Processing Zone (ZPE), which is currently located in Horizonte. The reason is that the group that is interested in Troller is linked to the production of wind energy blades. The interest in the EPZ is due to the ease of installing a graphene production line, which is extracted from graphite, found in the Massif of Baturité, in the region of Aracoiaba. The graphene would be produced at the same Troller factory, in Porto do Pecém, for application in wind turbine towers, which support the wind blades.
