Job vacancies will be available for the entire region of Resende, in RJ. It is estimated that Nissan will hire more than 500 new employees to help restart the plant's second shift operations.

Nissan announced, last Wednesday (6th), that it will hire 578 new employees to work from February at the plant in Resende/RJ. The selection for job openings starts later this month. Nissan intends to expand production of the Kicks sport-utility model to 400 units a day. The decision was taken after a drop in production and sales last year, when the company was operating in just one shift, due to the covid-19 pandemic. About 398 employees were laid off at the time. Currently, Nissan has 1,8 workers, 800 of whom are on the production line.

Nissan's high demand calls for new hires

According to the president of Nissan do Brasil, Airton Cousseau, the demand for the Kicks model grew a lot after the modifications carried out in March this year, as well as exports to Argentina and Paraguay.

Before the global pandemic, the automaker also produced the March and Versa cars, but the sales level of each of them was 35% lower than that of the Nissan Kicks. This happens due to the design changes that Kicks received, in addition to other technological items in its structure.

Cousseau reported that Nissan has also been facing problems, such as the shortage of semiconductors, but less intensely, compared to other automakers. With the production line stopped for 18 days, Cousseau said that this month, the factory in RJ will operate normally, with two Saturdays of overtime, in order to try to recover part of what was lost. Therefore, it is necessary to hire more workers to help with extra tasks.

Opening of job openings at the factory in Resende – RJ

The president and general director of Nissan South America, Guy Rodríguez, says that the factory in Resende, in RJ, is of fundamental importance for the evolution of Nissan, both in Brazil and throughout South America.

The opening of new jobs at the automaker is destined for the entire region of Resende and surroundings. The company gives priority to hiring workers from the immediate area. Rodríguez believes that, with the new shift in full operation, the factory will once again have a larger volume to meet the high demand for the redesigned Kicks model.

Race to re-establish the automaker's milestones

According to Cousseau, the RJ factory, as well as the other Nissan factories, are trying to work at a faster pace, with all the company's actions aligned with the global transformation plan outlined by the brand itself, which aims at constant innovation in its automotive.

In June, the company created a showroom virtual, as a way of taking the dealership to the customer, or wherever he wants. This facilitates communication between company and customer.
