Sectors That Will Be Installed at the Industrial and Port Complex of Pecém, in Ceará
The information was disclosed first-hand by the president of the ZPE in Ceará, Eduardo Neves, during an event held by the American Chamber of Commerce (Amcham Brazil) on Tuesday (21/09). Eduardo also highlights that among the sectors covered are three companies related to green hydrogen production, and other industries working with ornamental stones, batteries, electric vehicles, and in the oil and gas segment.
With 1,900 hectares of land ready for construction, the signed projects in the state of Ceará guarantee the occupation of just over 1,000 hectares, consolidating a “reserve” of more than half of the area planned for the installation of companies in the ZPE. According to the president of the Processing Zone, the second sector of the ZPE in Ceará is in the final phase of regulation, with only the final release of customs authorizations remaining for the unit to begin operations.

A New Factory of Votorantim Cimentos Has Started Operations at the Pecém Complex
Votorantim Cimentos began operations on the new production line at its cement plant at the Pecém Complex in the state of Ceará on 19/07. With the expansion, the unit now has an annual production capacity of around 1 million tons of cement. The production volume of the new unit will strengthen the supply to the metropolitan market of Fortaleza.
In a statement published by the company, it was reported that they invested around R$ 200 million in the project at the Pecém Complex, which lasted three years, prioritizing energy efficiency and industrial automation, with the installation of state-of-the-art equipment, following a sustainability strategy. For the execution of the works and the start of operations, more than 600 jobs were created in the unit, both direct and indirect.
The governor of Ceará, Camilo Santana, states that this new factory of Votorantim Cimentos in Pecém and the expansion of production capacity shows the company’s confidence in the State. The venture will help boost the economy, generating more jobs and income for the people of Ceará. Camilo emphasizes that he has been working day and night to attract new investments to Ceará, thereby increasing the generation of new jobs for the population.
The Troller Factory May Be Transferred to the Port of Pecém Due to Graphene Production in Ceará
Negotiations for the sale of Troller are already at advanced levels, and the potential buyer is considering bringing operations to Ceará. However, for this to happen, it will be necessary to transfer the Troller factory to the Port of Pecém due to graphene.
The possible recipient of the Troller factory is the Export Processing Zone (ZPE), which is currently located in Horizonte. The reason is that the group interested in Troller is linked to the production of wind turbine blades. The interest in the ZPE arises from the ease of installing a graphene production line, which is extracted from graphite found in the Baturité Massif, in the Aracoiaba region. The graphene would be produced at the same Troller factory in the Port of Pecém, for application in wind turbine towers that support the wind blades.
