Enthusiastic about the initiative, the Director of New Businesses of the Suape Complex, Luiz Barros, participated in all the activities organized by the Forum and recalled that the connection between teams was established back in 2019, during the Brazil Export event which featured the presence of the Minister of Infrastructure Tarcísio Gomes de Freitas. “The regionalized debate on the sector, coupled with proposals and demands that can boost port operations and foreign trade should be actions of our Committee. In this sense, the Port Community System should be a tool for building improvements and solutions, generating information leveling among all actors in the logistics chain.”
Present in the event auditorium were port operators, service providers, freight agents, public managers, and other professionals from the Northeast port community. The coordinator of the Regional Committee, Aluísio Sobreira, stated that he has frequented the Port of Suape since the 1980s and assured that the Forum’s work will primarily aim to showcase the qualities of the states in the region and seek solutions for the main infrastructure bottlenecks that have long harmed cargo owners. “We will identify the problems, address them comprehensively, and suggest solutions. Our agenda will be positive.”
Before the launch, the Suape Complex also hosted the first meeting of the Organizing Committee of Northeast Export. While thanking members from various states in the region for their presence, the CEO of Una, Fabrício Julião, explained that the forum will be permanent and the planned activities aim to clearly and honestly discuss the needs and particularities of shippers and port professionals in the Northeast.
