Wind Energy: Nordex, The Leader in Turbine Production for Wind Farms, Will Supply AES Brazil with 55 N163/5.X Turbines from the Delta4000 Series

AES Brazil has contracted the German multinational Nordex to manufacture and install 55 N163/5.X turbines for the Cajuína wind park, with a capacity of 313.5 MW. The contract also includes turbine service for a period of five years, with various extension options of up to 20 years.

The project is located 100 kilometers west of the city of Natal, in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. The site has constant average wind speeds around 9.2 m/s and a high capacity factor.

The start of turbine installations, which will be delivered in a specific operational mode of 5.7 MW, is scheduled for the summer of 2022.

The Nordex Group will manufacture the turbines, including rotor blades and 120-meter-high concrete towers in the country, after recently achieving compliance with Finame.

Giant 80-Meter Wind Blade Manufactured by Aeris Energy for Nordex – One of the Largest Wind Turbine Manufacturers in the World – Embarks at the Port of Pecém Heading to Europe

The Pecém port complex in Ceará celebrates the record shipment of a giant 80.1-meter wind blade to the German Nordex – one of the largest wind turbine manufacturers in the world!

The size of the wind blade (or rotor) manufactured by Aeris Energy for Nordex is impressive. The shipment of the first unit of this giant – the largest wind blade ever produced in the Southern Hemisphere – involved a specialized operation. The more than 80 meters in length required the involvement of various professionals, from manufacturing to transport to the Port of Pecém, in Ceará.

Blade-Less Turbines from Vortex Could Revolutionize Wind Farms and Change the World of Renewable Energy

Vortex Bladeless, a tech start-up based in Spain, is developing wind energy turbines that do not require blades (or rotors). One of the goals is to use these turbines in urban and residential spaces where the impact of ecological parks would be too great. Similar to a “giant straw,” according to its creators, it aims to change the world of renewable energy.

Blade-less (or rotor-less) turbines may be the future of wind and renewable energy. Vortex Bladeless claims that the turbine poses no danger to bird migration patterns or wildlife, especially when used in urban environments. Additionally, it asserts that the noise created would be at a frequency nearly undetectable to humans.
