Northeast state expands free tracker program for motorcycles and begins to serve owners in 19 cities, including the capital, after expansion of initiative created in 2024 and reinforced in 2025 with new registration and installation rules
The Moto Segura CE program has been expanded and now offers free tracker for all owners of registered motorcycles in 19 cities in Ceará, including Fortaleza. The update was announced on Wednesday, the 1st, and extends the reach of an initiative launched in September 2024.
Initially, the program only served mototaxi drivers and app delivery workers. In June 2025, the action had already been expanded to also allow the registration of authorized drivers, upon a declaration signed by the motorcycle owner.
Expansion of the free tracker in Ceará
With the new phase, owners of registered motorcycles in Fortaleza, Caucaia, Aquiraz, Cascavel, Chorozinho, Eusébio, Guaiúba, Horizonte, Itaitinga, Maracanaú, Maranguape, Pacajús, Pacatuba, Paracuru, Paraipaba, Pindoretama, São Gonçalo do Amarante, São Luís do Curu, and Trairi are now entitled to the free tracker. This measure expands access to the program for motorcyclists in these cities.

Owners of motorcycles or the main driver indicated by the owner in the CNH do Brasil app can also participate. Among the requirements are a valid driver’s license in category A, absence of serious restrictions, and the vehicle without debts or judicial restrictions.
How to request the free tracker
To join, interested parties must download the Meu Detran CE app, available on the Google Play Store and the App Store. Then, it is necessary to register with CPF, email, and password.
Next, the user must access the Moto Segura CE Program section, accept the rules, and schedule the installation at no cost. The service is performed by prior appointment.
Functioning of the tracking system
The Government of Ceará, through Detran-CE, installs the free tracker on the motorcycle using a specific data chip. The tracking is only activated when the citizen contacts the SSPDS Operations Center at number 190 and provides the registered CPF and password.
From this activation, the integrated system allows for the quick location of the motorcycle by security forces. In case of sale or transfer of the vehicle, the free tracker equipment must be uninstalled by scheduling a new appointment.
