Subsea7, a global leader in delivering offshore projects and technology for the energy sector, has announced a new contract with Petrobras valued at over US$ 1.25 billion. The contract aims at the development of the Búzios 9 field, located approximately 180 kilometers off the coast of the state of Rio de Janeiro, at a depth of 2,000 meters in the pre-salt layer of the Santos Basin.
Strengthening Partnership and Portfolio Expansion
“The agreement for Búzios 9 strengthens our project portfolio in Brazil and reaffirms our position with Petrobras. We look forward to working together once again in delivering another project,” said Yann Cottart, Vice President of Subsea7 Brazil Region, in a statement.

Schedule and Execution Location
According to Subsea7, project management and engineering work will begin immediately at the company’s facilities in Rio de Janeiro and Paris. Manufacturing of the pipelines will take place at Subsea7’s base in Ubu, Espírito Santo. Offshore operations are scheduled for 2026 and 2027.
