Votorantim Cimentos started today (07/19) the operation of the new production line at the cement factory in the Pecém Complex, in the state of Ceará. With the expansion, the unit now has a production capacity of approximately 1 million tons of cement annually. Specifications of the New Factory in the Pecém Complex, in Ceará
In a statement published today by the company, it was reported that they invested about R$ 200 million in the project, which lasted three years, prioritizing energy efficiency and industrial automation, with the installation of cutting-edge equipment, following the sustainability strategy. For the execution of the works and the start of operations, more than 600 jobs were created at the unit, both direct and indirect.
The governor of Ceará, Camilo Santana, states that this new factory of Votorantim Cimentos in Pecém and the increase in production capacity demonstrate the company’s full confidence in the state. The venture will help boost the economy, generating more jobs and income for the people of Ceará. Camilo emphasizes that he has been working day and night to attract new investments to Ceará and, with that, increase the creation of new job opportunities for the population.

Production of the New Unit
The new production line at the factory in Pecém will manufacture Cement Poty – All Works. Various studies were conducted to ensure that the product, in addition to offering the quality already known in the Ceará market, has the additional advantage of greater protection against sea spray.
The Sales and Marketing Director, Hugo Armelin, says that “We will offer our customers a product with the same quality and performance already recognized, but with enhancements to meet various types of construction, from foundation to finishing. We are very pleased to advance in our processes to offer products that meet the specific needs of the Ceará market, in addition to featuring production with a lower environmental impact.”

After signing a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Ceará, signed on Friday morning (06/25), the Santa Catarina company Renovigi Energia Solar expects to start operations of its new factory in the state by the end of this year. According to Gustavo Martins, president of Renovigi, the total investment is R$ 150 million, a value that includes the installation of the assembly line (R$ 12.5 million), in addition to raw material acquisition, working capital, equipment, investments in distribution, among others.
Renovigi promises to invest R$ 12 million in the construction or leasing of two industrial warehouses – to house the factory for assembling solar energy panels and another for a Distribution Center for the products. The properties are being leased from the Companhia de Desenvolvimento do Complexo Industrial e Portuário do Pecém (CIPP S/A), which manages the so-called Pecém Complex, including the seaport and the ZPE.
