The new Votorantim Cimentos factory, located in Complexo do Pecém, in the state of Ceará, received investments of R$ 200 million

Votorantim Cimentos started operating today (19/07), the operation of the new production line at the cement plant in Complexo do Pecém, in the state of Ceará. With the expansion, the unit now has a production capacity of around 1 million tons of cement annually. Specifications of the new factory in Complexo do Pecém, Ceará

In the note published today by the company, it was informed that they invested around BRL 200 million in the project, which lasted three years, and prioritized energy efficiency and industrial automation, with the installation of state-of-the-art equipment, following the sustainability strategy. For the execution of the works and the beginning of the operation, more than 600 jobs were generated at the unit, both direct and indirect.

The governor of Ceará, Camilo Santana, says that this new Votorantim Cimentos plant in Pecém and the expansion of production capacity shows all the company's confidence in the State. The undertaking will help boost the economy, generating more jobs and income for the people of Ceará. Camilo points out that he has been working day and night to attract new investments to Ceará and, with that, increase the generation of new jobs for the population.

According to Marcelo Castelli, president of the company, the project to expand the factory in Complexo do Pecém fills them with pride and satisfaction for the technical quality and contribution to the social, economic and environmental development of the state of Ceará. Marcelo says that with the investment they made, they strengthened their operations and presence in a strategic and important market, which is Ceará. With the new factory, more modern and efficient, they will increase production capacity, distribution and level of customer service in the region.

New unit production

The new production line at the factory in Pecém will manufacture Poty Cement – ​​All Works. Several studies were carried out so that the product, in addition to offering the quality already known in the Ceará market, has the added advantage of more protection against sea air.

Director of Sales and Marketing, Hugo Armelin, says that “We are going to offer our customers a product with the same quality and performance already recognized, but with evolutions to suit different types of work, from the foundation to the finish. We are very happy to advance in our processes to offer products that meet the specific needs of the Ceará market, in addition to presenting a production with less environmental impact”.

After signing a memorandum of understanding with the Government do Ceará, signed on Friday morning (25/06), the Santa Catarina company Renovigi Energia Solar hopes to start operations at its new plant in the state by the end of this year. According to Gustavo Martins, president of Renovigi, the total investment is BRL 150 million, which includes the installation of the assembly line (BRL 12,5 million), in addition to the acquisition of raw materials, working capital, equipment, investments in distribution, among others.

Renovigi promises to invest BRL 12 million in the construction or lease of two industrial warehouses – to house the solar energy panel assembly plant and another for a Product Distribution Center. The properties are being leased by the Company for the Development of the Industrial and Port Complex of Pecém (CIPP S/A), which manages the so-called Complexo do Pecém, including the seaport and the SPA.
