Electric SUV BYD Yuan Plus 2026 Is Registered With 313 Hp, New Battery, and 150 kW Charging, Indicating Arrival in Brazil Soon.
BYD is preparing to strengthen its presence in the electric car market in Brazil. The Chinese brand has officially registered the new Yuan Plus 2026 with the INPI (National Institute of Industrial Property), a renewed electric SUV that features a more powerful motor, a larger capacity battery, and an ultrafast charging system.
The registration was made by BYD Company Limited and confirms the automaker’s plans to launch the new generation of the model in the country — still without an official date.
Electric SUV Arrives With 313 Hp Motor and Ultrafast Charging
The Yuan Plus 2026, already presented in China, features the same electric setup as the BYD Seal, raising its power to 230 kW (313 hp) — a significant improvement over the 204 hp of the previous model.

Ducati brings to Brazil the Superleggera V4 Centenario: 228 hp that become 247 with a track kit, carbon fiber and carbon-ceramic brakes, estimated price between R$ 1.5 and 2 million, deliveries only in 2027.
In addition, the SUV now comes with a larger capacity battery, capable of operating with an 800-volt electrical system, allowing for ultrafast charging of up to 150 kW on direct current.
Currently, the model sold in Brazil is limited to 80 kW on fast chargers, making this evolution a significant leap in efficiency and convenience for drivers.

New Battery and More Robust Structure
The increase in power also brought a gain in the vehicle’s weight. The BYD Yuan Plus 2026 has increased from approximately 1,690 kg to 1,880 kg, reflecting a more robust and powerful battery.
Even with the changes, the brand maintained the Blade technology, which uses LFP (lithium iron phosphate) cells — known for their durability and thermal safety.
While full technical details have not yet been revealed, indications suggest that the SUV will offer greater range and performance without compromising the reliability that already characterizes BYD models.

Advanced Technology: The “God’s Eye” and New Driving Assistants
Among the technological innovations, the Yuan Plus 2026 incorporates the God’s Eye system, an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) that combines cameras, radars, and sensors to provide features such as lane maintenance, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking.
This system, already present in other vehicles from the brand, reinforces BYD’s commitment to safety and semi-autonomous driving, placing the SUV in a more competitive position in the mid-size electric segment.
Updated Design and Sportsier Look
The appearance of the Yuan Plus 2026 follows BYD’s new design language, featuring 18-inch wheels, redesigned bumpers, and subtle changes to the rear pillar.
The proportions remain balanced, with a length of 4,455 mm, a width of 1,875 mm, a height of 1,615 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,720 mm — dimensions that ensure good interior space and a robust presence on the streets.
These aesthetic changes bring the SUV closer to trends seen in premium Chinese models, such as those from GAC and Geely, enhancing its modern and technological image.
Yuan Plus: One of BYD’s Global Pillars
Since its arrival in Brazil in November 2022, the Yuan Plus has carved out a space among the best-selling electric SUVs, maintaining strong sales and recognition among consumers seeking range and technology.
Globally, the model has surpassed 1 million units sold, establishing itself as one of the pillars of the brand’s international strategy.
With the registration of the Yuan Plus 2026 at the INPI, expectations are that the new model will be officially launched in Brazil in 2026, reinforcing the competition among Chinese electric SUVs and expanding the supply of sustainable vehicles in the country.
BYD and the Chinese Offensive in the Electric Market
BYD, like other Chinese automakers, has been accelerating the pace of updates for its vehicles, betting on its own technologies and refined design to conquer international markets.
With the Yuan Plus 2026, the brand aims to combine power, fast charging, and intelligent driving systems, offering a competitive alternative to European and Japanese models.
The registration at the INPI not only anticipates its arrival but also reinforces BYD’s role as a key player in the transition to electric mobility in Brazil.
