The Secretary of Public Security of Ceará, Samuel Elânio, announced a new opportunity for those aspiring to join the state’s Fire Department. During his participation in CE 1st edition, he highlighted the imminent announcement of a new public competition for the Fire Department and also revealed that there will soon be a selection for the Civil Police.

According to the statement from the Commander of the Military Fire Department of Ceará, Colonel José Cláudio Barreto de Sousa, the request for a new announcement has been formalized. Now, the expectation is that the competition will offer 210 positions for the role of soldier, with an initial salary of R$ 3,475.74.

The selection process for the upcoming public competition for Firefighter in Ceará should follow the stages established by a new law that has been sanctioned, which include:

1st Phase: the tests, of a qualifying and eliminatory nature, and/or titles, which are of a qualifying nature, according to the rules in the announcement;
2nd Phase: medical-odontological, biometric, and toxicological exams, of an eliminatory nature;
3rd Phase: a psychological evaluation, of an eliminatory nature;
4th Phase: a physical capacity test, of an eliminatory nature;
5th Phase: a social investigation, of an eliminatory nature.

How Was the Last Public Competition for Firefighters in Ceará?

The last competition for soldier of the Fire Department of Ceará took place in 2013 and offered 270 positions. Candidates were evaluated in various subjects such as Portuguese Language, Information Technology, Mathematics, and Current Events, totaling 120 points.

Additionally, the physical fitness test (TAF) included exercises such as sit-ups, swimming, 50-meter dash, pull-ups, and a 12-minute run, with specific criteria for men and women.
