VW Polo Track 2025 Remains One of the Highlights in Its Category and Continues Selling More Than Its Competitors — Discover If the New Volkswagen Hatch Is the Ideal Choice for You!

Being the most registered passenger car in Brazil in the last year, the VW Polo, Volkswagen’s hatchback, has established itself as one of the brand’s biggest successes in the national market. With good sales performance and excellent public acceptance, the model has been filling the gap left by the classic Volkswagen Gol, which was discontinued two years ago. In the overall ranking for 2024, the Polo ranked just behind the Fiat Strada, and by a very narrow margin — reinforcing its success among Brazilian consumers. Now, in 2025, the Polo Track version arrives with specific updates and retains what attracts drivers the most: good cost-effectiveness, balanced performance, and low maintenance costs. In this article, you will discover everything about the VW Polo Track 2025, its main features, technical specifications, and why it might be the ideal choice for those looking for a reliable, modern, and economical hatchback.

New Volkswagen Hatch Achieves Up to 15.2 km per Liter on the Highway

According to data published by Inmetro in its table of the Brazilian Vehicle Labeling Program (PBEV), the VW Polo Track 2025 can deliver up to 9.4 km/l in the city and 10.8 km/l on the highway when fueled with ethanol. With gasoline, these numbers increase to 13.7 km/l in urban cycles and 15.2 km/l on highways.

Initial tests in the city were conducted by MobiAuto, driving strictly in São Paulo (SP) for a week on the home-work route and vice-versa, in addition to accumulating some mileage on weekends.

In total, approximately 178 kilometers were covered with the model on urban routes, achieving a good average of 9.04 km/l, slightly below the figure stated by Inmetro.

This figure might be explained by the heavy traffic days due to the back-to-school season in the city, which made the VW Polo Track suffer even more day-to-day with stop-and-go conditions, the worst possible situation for any combustion vehicle.

It is worth mentioning that all driving was done with the air conditioning on at all times and maximum ventilation to cool the cabin on days that easily exceeded 32°C.

Equipment and Engine of the New Volkswagen Hatch

The VW Polo Track 2025 is priced at R$ 92,990 in its standard and Robust versions. Its main rivals are the Citroën C3 Live 1.0 (R$ 72,990), Fiat Argo 1.0 (R$ 89,990), Hyundai HB20 Sense Plus 1.0 (R$ 93,310), and Chevrolet Onix 1.0 (R$ 93,770). In terms of engine, it features a 1.0 front transverse 3-cylinder 12V Flex engine with dual overhead camshafts and variable intake, driven by a timing belt.

With a maximum power of 84 hp at 6,450 RPM and a maximum torque of 10.3 kgfm at 3,000 RPM, it is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. Additionally, the model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 13.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 169 km/h. In dimensions, the model measures 4,079 mm in length, has a wheelbase of 2,565 mm, a width of 1,751 mm, a height of 1,471 mm, a trunk capacity of 300 liters, and a fuel tank of 52 liters.

Technical specifications include progressive electric steering, McPherson-type front suspension, and a twisted axle at the rear, with ventilated disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear.

Find Out If It Is Worth Buying the VW Polo Track 2025

Equipped with a 1.0 MPI three-cylinder engine that arrived a few years ago in the VW Up, the new Volkswagen hatch has proven to be a solid recipe for the German brand, and it is no surprise that it was the second best-selling car in the country in 2024.

Together with the Peugeot 208, this model is one of the entry-level cars with the best platform in Brazil with its MQB-A0 base, which provides one of the best dynamics in an entry-level vehicle, something that completely distances it from its predecessor, the Gol, which it replaced.

However, it is a shame because the 1.0 MPI engine does not fit entirely well in the Polo, considering that the hatch is heavier compared to its rivals, which requires care and patience, especially during overtaking on highways.

Nevertheless, the engine is elastic, ensuring good fuel consumption even with the more sustainable fuel (ethanol). Those who do not seek too much agility in their daily driving, but still value good drivability and economy, can opt for the Track, which is the best in its segment.
