The Honda unveiled in Japan the HR-V RS e:HEV (Vezel RS in the local market), a new hybrid configuration focused on drivability.
The model retains the e:HEV system with a 1.5 gasoline engine and two electric motors, delivering 129 hp and 25.8 kgfm and debuts with an option of front-wheel drive or 4WD.
The package includes a lowered suspension, specific steering calibration, and the Honda Sensing assistance suite.

Sporty Look With Exclusive Grille And 18-Inch Wheels
Based on the current generation of the HR-V, the RS e:HEV features an exclusive grille with the version emblem, bumpers with dark chrome accents, side skirts, and 18-inch alloy wheels.
The body has been 15 mm lower and has a total height of 1,545 mm, reinforcing the “low & wide” appearance proposal.

The setup recalls the sporty trim already seen in higher versions of the HR-V sold in other markets.
Interior With Exclusive Trim And Red Details
Inside, the cabin is specific to the RS.
The interior features a predominance of black with red stitching on the steering wheel, seats, and panels, as well as red accents.
The surfaces of the seats use Lux Suede material to enhance lateral support and reduce slipping in corners, maintaining a more refined touch sensation.
Hybrid System And Autonomy Of Over 20 Km/L
The HR-V RS e:HEV uses the brand’s self-recharging hybrid system.

In it, the combustion engine operates on the Atkinson cycle and drives one of the electric motors as a generator, while the other is responsible for moving the car most of the time.
At cruising speed, the combustion engine can couple to the wheels.
The combined power is 129 hp (96 kW) and the maximum torque of the traction motor reaches 253 Nm (25.8 kgfm).
In the e:HEV versions of the Vezel already in line, the consumption certified in the WLTC cycle exceeds 20 km/l and can reach levels around 25 km/l in front-wheel drive configurations, varying by version and weight.
Recalibrated Chassis And Suspension
In addition to the lowering, the RS e:HEV adopts exclusive suspension and electric power steering (EPS) with its own calibration for more linear responses.
Another novelty is the offering of 4WD in the RS, unprecedented for this trim in the Vezel, enhancing grip on low adhesion surfaces without altering the urban proposal of the version.
These changes aim at greater stability, better contact of the rear tires, and a feeling of a car “glued to the ground”.

Equipment And Honda Sensing Safety Package
The standard item list includes full LED headlights, heated front seats and steering wheel, dual-zone digital air conditioning, wireless charger, 10-speaker premium sound system, and 360° view cameras (multi-view).
The Honda Sensing package adds the brand’s driving assistance, such as collision mitigation, lane monitoring, and adaptive cruise control, among other features.
Launch In Japan Expected In October
Honda previewed the content of the RS on its official website and opened reservations on September 18, 2025.
The brand states that the announcement and arrival at dealerships will occur in October 2025.
So far, the manufacturer has not published the official price of the RS in Japan.
When the values are disclosed, there will be differences based on drive and options.
Current Situation In Brazil

In Brazil, the HR-V is still offered with 1.5 naturally aspirated and 1.5 turbo flex engines in the EX/EXL and Advance/Touring versions, respectively, all with Honda Sensing.
The top-line Touring appears in the network and in commercial communications with a suggested price of R$ 209,900, a value that may vary by state and paint.
Honda has not announced the arrival of the e:HEV setup to the national HR-V.
Is There Space For A Hybrid Version In The Brazilian Market?
Considering the focus on efficiency, consumption above 20 km/l in the e:HEV configurations, 15 mm lower suspension, available 4WD, and a wide range of ADAS, the RS e:HEV configuration would expand the HR-V’s offerings.
Would You See Space For A Hybrid HR-V With All-Wheel Drive In Brazil Or Would The Preference Remain With The 1.5 Turbo Flex Versions?
